I agree. Not only is it fun for someone who stumbles on one unknowingly, but then makes more people dive back in and start searching once the news gets out!
2 have already been found that I know of. I is of a small lumpy see through thing with some leg and head like bits coming out. The other is of this fuzzy thing that "might be friendly" according to the time capsule. The graphics look great though.
I think I had seen 3 total images when confirming it was real before making the video, but I agree that the graphics look fantastic in UE5. I didn't look closely or very long at the images, however, but one of them looked wild AF
Any time you start a new save file in Subnautica, it will load up to 40 (I believe) approved time capsules and place them randomly through the map of that save. The devs added these special ones to the pool of existing time capsules. So if you start a new game, there is the possibility of finding a random time capsule that contains a screenshot (and a small amount of text) teasing something in Subnautica 2!
@@Pedigreedmoth thank you for taking the time to explain it to me, I smashed the subscribe button! So basicly I wont find the new time capsules in my old survival save file? Il have to start a new survival world.
It's my understanding that the time capsules are loaded when the file is created, and if that's the case, then you are correct, they won't show up in an old file. I could be wrong, but your best bet if you want to find one is definitely a new save file. And thanks for the sub!
Thanks! I was just at work when I found out about it and wanted to quickly get the word out so people can enjoy the hunt themselves if they want to. I will definitely cover things in more detail soon because I think this was a W idea by the dev team
I honestly have no idea. I believe we will be getting more information about the game here very soon, and I think the secret time capsule hunt is just a little teaser to drum up hype more organically within players of the game. It's hard to say if they intend to release more things this way or if this is just something they thought would be fun to do as a one-off
That is a very cool marketing strategy.

@@lChronosl93 A very unique one that I have never seen any other game devs do, Subnautica is truly something else!
Time to start a new save, let’s get em boys
THE HUNT IS ON
yeahhh
what a way to tease us for the next game! i love it xD
i was wondering why i was suddenly seeing a bunch of time capsules, found 6 in the sparse reef
When you create a save file, up to like 40 time capsules can populate around the map. So some save files just get lucky with more capsules than others

Good luck with your hunt!
Wait I did not really understand what is going on, how can I even find these time capsules?

It's 2024. Subnautica 2 came out years ago.
Below Zero is Below Zero. The video isn't about below zero. It's about the upcoming Subnautica 2
