I can't understand how a person so beautiful inside and out, humble, simple, who cared for his people, could end up that way. At least she met the love of her life, a great man who was with her through thick and thin, until the last minute of her days.
Definitely a pride for many, it was a light that shone more and more.

Selena died when I began HS school back in the mid 90’s and I remember two of my friends down the street who were from El Salvador running up to my porch with Selenas record in their hands, tears pouring down their faces yelling Selena’s Dead! Over and over again and I remember thinking I had no idea who she was! feeling confused but years later when I rented this DVD, yes Rented it back then out of pure curiosity in early 2000.I was amazed and mesmerized by this woman, and her beautiful soul and sheer talent. I always think back to my friends that day and feel at such a lost of not knowing this singer and couldn't even relate to the pain they were feeling but I understood their pain much more year's later and still now, because she was truly an Angel and a gift. If you do nothing else watch this entire show/ performance. Her stage presence and talent is just beyond mesmerizing and exceptional and she was so happy and it showed cuz to beginning to end, this was a show of all time. It's no wonder she is still honored today. I'm still sad she's gone. Can't believe she would’ve been 50yrs old this yr 2021.

just came across your video. just subscribed. I still remember driving and listening to our local country station in San Antonio TX , when the breaking news came out about her death. I pulled over and cried in front of my girlfriend, who had no clue who she was. I grew up on her music because of my mom and aunts. I fall in love with her all over again, every time I see her videos.

Selena eras tan talentosa, humilde y hermosa. Eras un paquete completo desde cantar tan bien hasta bailar sin parar. No hay duda que muchas cantantes copiaron o se inspiraron en tu vida y la visión que tenías, nada más que nunca habrá alguien así de humilde y carismática como tú.

Selena was a great singer. She died very young and despite 25 years of death, people are still listening to her and watching her videos. Being Mexican I love to listen to music in English, here in Mexico we have many artists that we love from the USA, I grew up listening to music from the 70's and 80's in English and Spanish although I was born in the 90s I decided to learn English for my favorite band when I was in high school Black Eyed Peas, maroon 5, Evanescense, and Britney Spears. We love them guys.

I remember watching this live as a 6 year old!! It's amazing she's still causing the same reaction I had 26 years ago for people hearing her for the first time! Even us fans back then it was many of our first time hearing here sing in English and getting ready for her English album to drop.. but tragically a month later we latinos were crushed with her death. Great video, thanks for doing this!

So Selena was 2nd generation chicana, meaning she was American of Mexican decent, as her and her parents were born in Texas. Her connecting to where her family's originated from was important to her, as many Hispanic people who are born in the US can attest to, we are seen as American first, Latinos second by many Latin Americans, while the reverse happens with Americans seeing us as Latinos first and Americans second. She knew this first hand and made many pushes to break that separation from both sides, making herself known to be both simultaneously. I adore her for that as being first generation American born who is from Texas myself, it made me identify with someone that had something like me.

Seen reactions and most of you don't do research on Artist before reacting. Selena Quintanilla is an icon, over 65 million Records sold, movie, Netflix series, Hollywood star, Grammy, etc Her father is working on getting her into history books for Mexican American Heritage with Gregory Nava. Oh, what a loss for the Mexican and Mexican American community. I get so teary eyed thinking about her. She would be a super star today. Honest to god talent - no auto tuning for this woman. RIP, Selena. We all miss you so much!
