I’ve always been a cottagecore/farmhouse girlie, but I’m moving soon and I’m craving something a bit grungier and vintage without losing a ton of the cottagecore elements so this aesthetic kind of seems perfect!
That looks more like romantic academia, but still really cool.
🥰 I actually like a mix of both in my home. Light and dark academia, I think it gives it a nice balance and I love it.
I’m moving soon and I think I’m going to go with a bit of a mix and have light & dark!
This is what I've done and it's perfect, especially if you flip between the two moods. I think it's only going to work if most of your walls are a light colour though
I'm obsessed keep the ideas coming
Classic Light Academia movie Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing.
I know this is super random but I couldn‘t help it, I had to read the newspaper articles in the background. So today I learned that Julio Iglesias got married to a dutch supermodel with whom he already has 5 children. 😂
And an Austrian casino is expanding to Scotland! I don't know anything about casinos, but that does feel super random.
@@Aigra So the background also works for the old money aesthetic😂
Love!!! I’m always having tea. 😂 Love the idea of the Greek column and the candelabra!!! So need to incorporate this in my style!!!
I'm light all year....its my favorite.
Light accademia... The perfect aesthetic for Summer!! I love this video
I’m doing a room makeover and needed some inspiration
The timing could not be better!
Happy to help!!
How I missed this I have no idea .... Must have been the monsoons. Love the commentary about the aesthetic - like being at a gallery ...🎨🎭 Thanks.
Lovely videos, really help me in my own light/dark academia decoration journey.
So glad I could help!
@@justlanchen You are amazing content creator, keep it up!
Very inspiring video, thank You !
Always light your candles for at least three-five minutes for display purposes. Candles that have never been lit look cheap and tacky.
love this!
Again, your ideas are inspiring!🤍🕯️🌼
Light and feel-good Jane Eyre🌚 well, I guess to each their own😅 I agree that LA and DA are very seasonal, that’s why it's more convenient to change the decor, not the interior as such. Thank you for all the suggestions, they are really cute and reasonable!
Lol 💀
Yea I actually agree, I thought about removing it but it was already edited 😂
I saw it was considering light academia because of her consistent passion for learning. Anne of Green Gables is considered light academia too but she also gets abused
Haha Aw well
OhmyGoodness I adore this!! 🌸🌷
Love it!
Thanks for the inspo!
You’re so welcome 🥰
There are no Hobby Lobby in Quebec 🤧But I love your ideas! Sometimes you come up with something, somehow, and I'm just wow! didn't think about it! So, thank you!😇
Começamos bem, com esse chá nesse bonito bule.
Hello, very nice and useful video! I would like to ask if I can reach the light academia aesthetic with modern/scandinavian furnitures? I don’t know if it will be as acurate and beautiful as your room.. Thank you 🤎
Yes, you absolutely can. That's exactly my style. I have some Scandinavian modern furniture in a soft teal color with black and white graphic patterns and mustard yellow accents. Light wood furniture, dark floors, gold accents. Lots of painted skulls, taxidermied insects, tons of plants, crystals, tarot designs, clocks, hourglass, tons of old academic books with pictures. It sounds wild but I get so many compliments.
Day 2 of asking for gorp-core room decor and/or streetwear
LOL you used an Austrian Newspaper as background 😂 (for example 4.33) i am from Austria
I love that you caught that!!

📚🕯️🤎
Academia of any shade isn't this.
Happy image of Narcissus?? But some the things I might say here less relevant because talking about decor and not wardrobe, because, of course, school OUT in summer and all that.... And some them books popular, but not same theme as academic in dark sense but also some subjects just make people miserable ANYWAY for various reasons, like they just wanted to skate by in easy electives but then still had to take math and lab science or whatever? ha ha
Most the gals who decorate with books intentionally buy cloth-bound books that they'll never read, but most paperbacks I guess just wedged in a drawer somewhere or something because they will never be really attractive aesthetically, blah, blah. Mass Market Trade paperbacks fare a little better if you can read them through without bending the spine much, but they still look like bigger paperbacks mostly.
Unfortunately, the book pages and prints will end up looking more dormy with time, so better to try and upgrade if decorating a more permanent space. However, I don't need my maps and globes to be so current because I like the more throwback looks and will probably always consider wallpaper too much of a chore and commitment along with some other typical decorative stuff.
Much of these looks are a little too "girly" for me, but I don't always gravitate toward dark furniture so much as cherry or maybe bamboo and such. I would almost like to redo house, or portions, almost as seasonally as wardrobe, but this is just way less convenient or cost-effective to be possible, obviously.
I mean, Coastal Cottage makes more sense in summer than ANY academia, but then you have to store a bunch of seashells and such for 9 months? Bedsheets and towels a little less obtrusive, etc. Sweaters take up a LOT of room, though. Corduroy trousers... Sigh. [I don't know if you live somewhere with more cool weather and all that.]
