The heroine deserves to be in the big screen. She clearly has the talent , her eyes speak a thousands of emotion. She perfectly delivers her line with just her eyes and gestures speaking, no words need to be spoken. Also , she has the charisma. She is very pretty
I enjoy this drama. No abuse. Misunderstandings abound. Just really good, really well done. Would like to have seen them actually together more as a couple but they both loved each other.

Agree irl yeah thats silly. But in the context of this show: men are insecure as women. They both didnt trust each other. Loved so deeply but insecure about how it came together. Its his first love, he loved her since she was a child and was sure of her. Until she asked to marry the brother, heard his mum say she wanted to marry older brother and her been sad ( in his eyes jealous) at the brothers engagement. From the conversations they've never admitted to loving each other. She believed him when he said he loved 3rd party, the mum told her he loved the 3rd party ( hurry and divorce as my son isnt coming home because he is angry that he married you) and he was forced to marry because of grandma. These little seeds nian lead to big misunderstandings.
This is such a well made drama, I have swollen eyes to prove it! Had watched another version some time back but I have to say that this is a much better version. The casting was well done and the characters had depth and development which is surprising in a short drama like this. However, it would help a great deal if one is somewhat fluent in Mandarin as the subtitles are way off in some parts. Overall, I would still recommend this ❤❤
The characters are lovingly and thoughtfully drawn; deep, vulnerable, and flawed. The ML actor is breathtaking to watch. I assume it's a combination of his acting and the writing that so vividly puts across his character as a clown who keeps life at a distance by never taking anything too seriously, until all his defenses are stripped away and he has no choice but to grow up. The FL is deeply sensitive and viscerally afraid to love after accepting hurt as a way of life for so long. As much as I could tell via the horrifically bad auto-captions, their dialogue often seemed deep and touching. There are so many beautiful little touches: how afraid he is of opening a certain door for fear it will reveal that she's gone; his pleasure and anticipation when she bursts into his office furiously while he's in the middle of a meeting, and how readily he shoos everyone else out so he can have it out with her. I kept steeling myself for the dumb ending where he takes a knife for her, but this drama doesn't resort to cheap tricks. I can't recommend it highly enough.
i like him on this one, some of his other dramas are always him the evil to a wife, atleast on this one, he's kinda lowkey just into her, and the female lead on this one is pretty, brave, and not weak at all. .

Her love died. He let it dwindle. He didn't fix it. It should have been the end of them. This doesn't feel like a happy end

I really enjoyed this version and drama, partially because of my fav main actors Wang Gege and He Jianqi. They both were excellent! Their acting didn’t disappoint at all! I just didn’t like the deep misunderstandings between the ml & fl and the dark secret that the Zhou family hid from the fl. The ml was like an impulsive, immature adult while fl was more mature and reserved. That green tea villainess wasn’t as evil as others I’ve seen but she was still hateful, however she was a big help to the fl towards the end. That ending tho?? Wth?? Anyways, I’m gonna go rewatch the version with Wang Kaimu, also my fav actor. I like his character better, more mature with great sarcasm and humor😍
