Agreed merc is asking too much for the car.
Maybe try something rear wheel drive, hell you could even try a six or eight cylinder engine! Live a little...
dr j I’ve previously owned a C63 AMG which I loved but hatches are a lot more practical and realistic for me now. It’s a shame the prices seemed to have jumped so much
@@jujumando9850 You have to remember theres so much new tech we have to pay for. I had no issues handing over the cash as I cant think of any other car that comes close to its performance for same price
Buy one in 2-3 years, 60-70 grand.
10:24 "Dynamics" has a Master setting and "Drive Mode" has a Race setting. Well done Mercedes by putting those together.

True. The Renault is still $80k though - but shows what lighter weight can do!
Another fun fact: The Renault is about as cool as Theresa May

Unfortunately the production is stopped and it won’t be easy to start it back up again, with the current pandemic. Mine was going to be build this month, but delayed until further notice.
I understand why, as our health is very important. But I do admit, it is quite frustrating.

Was enough to put me off the A250 ( along with the price ). Ended up buying a Golf R for less money!
Golf R is a brilliant package.
I'm just not a fan of all the Golf R's interior rattles. That's why I'm looking at upgrading. But $100k is steep. Could buy a secondhand Trackhawk for about that lol
Too much on driving. You’re a tall bloke...what are those sport seats like? I found them to be very uncomfortable. Do you like the computer style tools in the centre? Or bring back the rotational wheel? Rear seat storage was all mesh nets, looked cheap, thoughts? Driver assist/safety features? Be good to know because as you said, one can easily do damage to the body given how low it is...sound system? Sunroof operations? So many things missed...

I found with the old A45 you had to mash the crap out of the car to get what the car was capable of.
This one is a lot more accessible - very quick out of the blocks.

Why are the wipers on? Clear dry day. Bet you couldn’t figure out how to turn them off. Drift mode setup looks ridiculous. Do like the change back to real exhaust

@@EastWood2004 I actually drive apr st2 golf r and yeah from the quarter mile perspective you are right.
From youtube videos, I can confirm that stock a45s do 12.1s whereas stage 2 r usually runs high 11s
This is a more hard-core and sorted car than the RS3, RS3 only has the more characterful sounding engine over this that's all, drive both

Vtec is a gimmick. Literally does nothing performance wise, a bit of extra noise and that's it.

The reality is, if you are in the market for a high performance car you'd be very very hard pressed to pull the trigger on this vehicle at its MSRP.
Its trying to command 2nd hand C63S, RS6, RS4, Supra and R35 GTR money. Meaning you'd have to pass up on genuine uncompromising performance vehicles, some which are infinitely more prestige and high end then this, and others which are far more practical, such as a new RS4 wagon, which you can pick up 2nd hand for circa $110k with low kms and remaining dealer warranty now...
If you want an impressive and exotic "hyper hatch"....just buy a 1-2 year old facelifted RS3, and enjoy a vastly more modifiable platform and lets be honest, one of the greatest sounding engines in the segment. (With $30k left in your pocket)

Even if you could legally, which you cannot, do you really think it would be a good idea? Drive something slow and cheap until you have some experience, because you are going to have a few incidents in your early driving career.
A35 AMG is a less powerful and power more manageable

You think like that as a potential owner and seller, but if you think as a second hand buyer you would never get one for 40% off for an one-year old A45S.

Mecedes cares at so fucking ugly and cheap now. What a shame, there's is no other explanation other than cost cutting, if it wasn't cost cutting, then there's something wrong with their heads. The back is just horrendous oh god, and the front just looks so cheap and plasticky. Ah bloody hell, the last good range from mecedes was 2018, from then on, the design has been so yuck
