I’m not a formal kind of guy but the moderator should’ve eschewed the shorts and sandals.

It seems to me that Christian philosophers are primarily engaged in defending a set of propositions (beliefs) that support their identity. Most of these beliefs, or sets of propositions, have very little to do with the historical Jesus, who would almost certainly have been shocked to discover that he was the founder of a metaphysical religion which teaches the Trinity and the Two-Natures, etc! These sets of propositions do not save one and Christ nowhere intimates that having the correct set of propositional truth-claims has anything to do with salvation. Christ, as far as I can tell, was teaching an orthopraxy, not an orthodoxy. Modern Christians are overly preoccupied with defending truth-claims and not with Christ's practical ethics!

The problem is that you don’t believe Jesus to be God and you don’t even know how Jesus was depicted in the bible. You make him out to be a some ignorant Jewish hippie farmer. You don’t seem to know much about how Jesus was depicted in the bible, I don’t even know what your historical Jesus is considering the Bible is probably what your deriving parts of your historical Jesus from in the first place
Truth claims have nothing to do with salvation? We must believe that Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man. We must believe that Jesus Is the son of God and that he took on the full wrath of God for our sins. Why do you think that in the Bible there is so much emphasis on believing in him.
We care more about people knowing that Christ is the son of God and that the God we speak of is really God, because it is obviously the higher priority. It’s one of those things that everything depends on.
