Thank you Kubeir. You did mention that for proof of funds, the bank statement should suffice and the bank letter or gift deed etc. won't be needed. I just wanted to confirm on that as that will be a big relief if we simply need to show the statement or the banker's check etc. and not anything else more complicated.

Thanks for the information. I wanted to know do we need to carry the amount along which was showed as proof of funds while filing the express entry profile. Or do we just need to carry some amount with us and show them the FDs which we have in the home country.

Very informative video! Just received my PPR last week and have booked a flight to Toronto but the point of entry is Montreal. Considering they follow different laws would it be a problem as I'm an Express entry applicant under FSW. Also my layover is just 2 hours will that suffice?

I have received my COPR, and in my COPR destination province is mentioned as NS and destination city is mentioned as Halifax, I had Nova Scotia PNP.
My question to you is do have have to go to Halifax for my first landing or I can do it at Toronto or any other port of entry for that matter?
Looking forward to your advise as I am under the impression that I can do my first landing at any port of entry however I am not an expert.

Hi, I have learnt that the PR process is done at the first port of entry into canada regardless of the final destination. Please confirm that.

1. Do we need to take full amount required or we can take pof of full amount and half of the money?

Hi your blog is very useful, We are planning to migrate in Canada soon our final destination is in Prince Edward island. Can we give our canada addres in other state in BC since i have relatives there and we don't have yet a permanent address in PEi.
My husband have recieved visa stamped and COPR today to travel Canada , but online the IRCC has not update the Visa details or u can say Counterfoil document is not genrated . Can he still allowed travel with COPR.

I plan to make a soft landing in coming march, it's nearly a year after obtaining the COPR. Should I inform the immigration officer at the airport that I intend to return home after a few weeks, emphasizing that this visit is only for the purpose of a soft landing?

I am going to receive my COPR soon (around early May 2023). I understand that it is valid for a year. But, at the same time, it is tied to my medicals. However, my medicals will expire in Sept 2023.

Just declare your belongingz when you arrive. No duty is payable as a first time immigrant.
For luxury items it's best to prepare a list and have them stamp/sign it so that u don't face issues in future

Is permanent address compulsory. Because i don't know anyone in canada. Is there any options available or one can get PR card from service canada office or provide it to them in one or two weeks. @@neopeth Played it safe and landed in Toronto directly. I met a few people who travelled via Montreal though, wasn't a problem for them.
Hi Kubeir, I have received COPR and needs to transfer funds to Canada before landing. I am thinking of opening online international account in Scotiabank from Pakistan before going. It allows one time transaction from other countries n then freezes account before you reach. Can you share if its a safe option?
PS: i can't take cash from Pakistan due to dollat restrictions
As long as you can get access to your account, it shud be fine
Hi there, I will be landing in Canada for the very first time. My destination City in CoPR document is Toronto. I have booked a flight that goes to (via) Vancouver first. I will have to change flights in Vancouver. Will this be a problem?

@@Bhavesht1 Bhavesh, please let them know that you have a layover in Vancouver so that they do it quickly for you because due to some reason they took 4 hours for me to complete the formality. Luckily that was my destination city. But I saw one person who wanted to go to Winnipeg and he probably must have missed his flight. All the best wishes. Tell the border officer you don't have an address yet and will update later. Then once you settle in and get an address, update IRCC using webform.
Alternatively get/rent a UPS Street mailing address.

Also, if I don't have an address (yet), can I provide a family members address for the PR Card? (of course with their permission). I'm just making a short visit before we make the permanent move.
