As you are dealing with a no potion challenge, there is a beautiful advice for you: craft water brews. They are definitely S tier alchemy items. You can throw them to solve 3 types of puzzle rooms instead of drinking a potion: a trap room (water breaks all traps), red centry room (he doesn't attack if you turn the floor into water), and a gas room, where water also covers all gas sources (but this is a bit difficult to do). Also useful for pushing and paralyzing enemies, not mentioning dealing damage to fire enemies and extinguishing flames

If you find a scroll of transmutation you might want to craft a recycle spell with it. That would let you change your useless exotic scrolls into something else, and you'd have 12 charges of the spell to work with!
Oh I thought of a future challenge to do but it's kind of situational! If you're playing a run and you get the elemental embers wandmaker quest then use the embers to craft the summon elemental spell and then imbue it with a potion (of liquid flame or frost) or scroll (of charging or transmutation) to create a full power elemental buddy! The challenge then would be to defeat Yog with your elemental buddy helping you fight, and then complete the ascension with the help of your elemental buddy! I believe the type of item you imbue it determines the type of elemental you get: liquid flame for fire, frost for frost, charging for shock, and transmutation for chaos.
I believe enemies (unless they're slow for some reason) always get their turn when the turn timer reaches 12 o'clock. So when you're attacking really fast you want to keep doing attacks until you're sure the next attack will advance the timer past 12 o'clock, then do the parry!

water brew also extinguishes magic fire (that usually requires a frost potion) so that is one more puzzle room it cheats.

that would be a challenge indeed! I find it very tenuous to manage the friendly minions.

you can do the same for a weapon instead of armor with the 4th combo and that does splash dmg so it can be even more broken
