EAST LANSING, Mich. - The nationally-ranked Iowa women’s basketball team found a way against Michigan State, winning 84-81, in overtime on Wednesday night inside the Breslin Center. There were 18 lead changes, was tied 11 different times, and the Hawkeyes secured its seventh conference win this season.
All-American Caitlin Clark registered her 34th career double-double, finishing with a game-high 26 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds. Monika Czinano broke a school record for single-game field goal percentage, going perfect, 11-11 from the field to finish with 22 points and seven rebounds.
Iowa struggled to find their rhythm in the first quarter but found a way inside as 10 of its 18 points were from inside the paint. Czinano finished with six points, and Clark grabbed six rebounds in the first to take a five-point lead heading into the second.
Molly Davis swished a three to give Iowa some breathing room in the second. The team shot 34 percent from the field, and went into halftime down by one, after a buzzer-beater three from Michigan State.
The third quarter went back-and-forth, as Gabbie Marshall made back-to-back shots from behind the arc to give Iowa a one-point lead with six minutes remaining. The Spartans would go on a 4-0 run in the final seconds to take a 58-54, lead going into the final quarter.
Czinano had 10 points in the fourth, before fouling out with two minutes remaining. Iowa trailed by three, but pressure free throws from Kate Martin and Clark gave them a one-point lead in the final minute.
Clark hit the game-winner and sealed it with two free throws to give the Hawkeyes its fourth win a row.

The announcerette was so upset when MSU player fell, no big deal when the Iowa player left with injury.

Clark missed a free throw and the male announcer sounded like he was just told the world is ending. A lot of home refs but this guy is exceptional. Fun to watch and listen. Thank you. Stay safe.

Idk I keep watching the foul on Clark that almost cost them the game..but it looks like Caitlin’s hand was on Michigan state player and the Michigan player swats Caitlin’s hand away and it just happens to hit the other Michigan state player in the face and its just funny how the girl that got hit was leaning in with her face ..like it was planned …😂 but who knows lol

      That's exactly what happened.

I agree. Watching at .25 speed made it obvious the Michigan State player pushed Clark's arm. I would be surprised if they planned the player getting hit in the face though.
Plus it makes absolutely no sense that she would pick 5 seconds left with a 3 point lead and everybody standing in the same area so the refs could easily see it to hit someone in the face.

This was an important win for Iowa, because aside from Czinano and Stuelke they did not play well at all, yet got a road victory.

Notice how CC never takes the ball out under a made basket, only during a half court set on their end. Sometimes she goes out of her way to avoid the inbounds like it's the plague. That too me is the sign of an extremely selfish player, regardless of her assists. It's a sign that the small stuff don't apply to her. Really even if ur the PG how hard is it to inbound to someone and get it right back? Digging the rest of Iowa players but just cus of CC, looking forward to her getting bounced outta the dance again this March, hopefully from a lower seed.

Or maybe and just maybe she doesn't want the ball right under the hoop for the Inbound throw? Not sure how that's makes her a selfish player?

God effen allah damn y'all stupid with ur responses. Never played ball before have you? Under normal game conditions it's no big deal to take the ball out. The fact that she avoids it like the plague makes her a selfish player. God damn jackanaps, stfu and sit down

this last sentence aged super well!
i love how Caitlin is so good ppl have to find the tiniest most inconsequential things to criticize, like literally how does this remotely show she's a selfish player lmao
