Honestly I think a huge change that would benefit CB is giving it a offset attack that lets you do an SAED follow up I think it would actually make it one of the best weapons
Awesome love to see it ❤ I dont see many other charge blade players in world or the beta. This is beautiful to come across. I figure the pizza cutter spam is the most effective dps for speed run but i love mixing in SAED to for the flashness andd bad ass feeling when slaming a monster down with it.
really sucks that the new direction of CB is to spam savage axe for best damage, I miss the days of SAED spam. might be time to change weapons unless they somehow buff and make SAED viable in main game
Only the phial explosions which do pathetic dmg anyway. As for saed, unless they give some buffs in the full game then no it’s not worth it currently. Ed and AED just applies so much stun that there should never be a reason to use all your phials up otherwise you lose dmg. But that’s just how it is for now, maybe they will change it
Pretty much dead, every speedrun just uses sword mode to charge phials and stay in axe mode forever, there's no point in guard point either, just keep axe mode and dodge around.

Nothing's dead. It's a beta there's no weapon crafting or build making and none of the available skills have synergy with CB.
From what I’ve seen, popping a wound on the legs with a focus strike will always topple but it could be that it just fills like 90% of the part dmg and just happens to pop it.
Part of it. Just to clarify, when you focus strike the leg, it guarantee Rey dau to topple. The thing is you need to open the wound on its leg first. And so I didn’t have solid game plan to hit the leg at certain time. I just generally aim for head as it’s optimal to damage. It’s just I have done enough attempt at this to realize that there will be time I just have to hit things and if it end up on the leg, then I would be sure to capitalize on it. In casual play though, I really like aiming for the legs for getting more topple yea. Especially in multiplier. way more comfy than trying to hit the head all the time.
My main issue with savage axe playstyle not only in this game but other titles as well is that im not very good, so i need defensive options and savage axe has always lacked defensive options, you cant guard point quickly, your dodges are side hops i dont have a quick answer for defense other than to try and . Saed style at least let me gp into an saed and dump my phials so i can burst quick and get out. ive always gotten whacked playing savage, idk if im playing it wrong but it feels very unsafe
So now there a new move when storing phials you hold circle to directly store them in your shield, and before that he also parried the roar which lets you insta get into pizza cutter mode

Ideally I like a mix of both playstyles. I know this is the demo and builds dont suit Phial gameplay but I hope this not the only way to play CB
As long as the AED combo is strong enough i think this play style will remain interesting, SAED could definitely use a buff however. I think the best possible outcome would be if savage axe and saed could be used in the same build and gameplay loop, without necessarily spamming one or the other.
I don't get these cb players who want the sword mode to be strong, the sole purpose of the mode is to power up the axe mode and it's been like that since mh4

@@thor3518 I feel you on that. SAED spam is fun play style. Normally there are skills in the game that buff the damage tho so there’s a good chance when the full game drops we’ll still be able to abuse these monsters with SAEDs, we’ll just have to all make sure we hit our guard points consistently.

you already can perfect guard into saed, that seems super redundant to add
@ offsets give a way more satisfying feel when you land those and offsets also have a bigger benefit because the monster gets knocked back

This is a demo. We don't have skills. The other playstyle will 100% work again and be good too

Savage Axe feels nothing like playing SA, especially now that you're constantly morphing during combo sequences with that weapon.
