Some great memories there Dave…I worked at the stadium and when speedway arrived I worked overtime in the office, £8 hour…oh yeah. The music names…Barry White, Stylistics, George McCrae…to name but a few…happy days.
We watched the Grt Britain being towed up the river from Pill. Loads of kids went out in rowboats to accompany it. Great memories - I didn't like the "girly" styles of the bands though! I definitely preferred the soul bands - loved the Stylistics. And Mud! By 79, I was living in London, as an apprentice with Lambeth council, so had a close up view of the winter of discontent!
Lots of memories for me there, Dave. Thanks! I was there when Rovers went up, I was there for the speedway, i was on the Portway when SS Great Britain came home, and I was at home when Concorde flew over our house on her maiden flight. The M32 was good fun at Eastville - loads of people used to stop on the hard shoulder right above the Stapleton Road end and we used to have a bet to see how long it was before they got nicked by the police! Happy days! PS Shalamar was 1982 ;)
Great memories here! ☀️

Hey dave love the videos..maybe not Gary glitter though?
No time for the man but the music was brilliant. Regards Dave.
Gary Glitter!!! I nearly choked on my Clarks pie, a bit controversial.
No time for the man but the music was brilliant. Enjoy your pie. Regards Dave.
Yes it's a shame he is the way he is, but yes I have to admit the music was good.@@historymandave4739
