In this small town growing up we had a Pisanello's. They had this huge rack in the middle of a walkway with all these DVDs to rent movies. They had an ice chest of frozen treats like SpongeBob pops, and for a short time they did soft serve.
Of course they closed in like 2013 or so and they were the only people that would deliver to my grandmother's house being in the country between counties. I miss Pizzanello's, the closest one is a too far to drive for pizza.

I grew up out in the middle of nowhere. Going to Pizza Hut meant driving at least half an hour to get there. We didn't get a VCR until 1986 when I was in college and the video rental store was also a trip, so maybe that's why I don't know this experience. But---going to Pizza Hut back then was always great because of the sit down style. It's the kind of place you would go on a Sunday afternoon, or stop by after going to the nearby mall. Getting Domino's delivery was out of the question because by the time they finally had one in the same town that had the Pizza Hut, we were still too far away for them to deliver. But ironically, that Domino's is located in the same building where there had been a Blockbuster Video.

Pizza has been my favorite food my whole life, so I've had all of these many times. Though I'm vegan now, so I haven't had them in a few years. Some, if not all, of these chains have vegan cheese in the UK, but unfortunately not in the US. When I was a kid, I would enjoy going to Pizza Hut. What really stands out in my mind is the personal pan pizzas I would get with the Book It program, and also The Land Before Time and Casper hand puppets. Those were great. For delivery I always liked Little Caesars. But then Papa John's opened, and to me it was god tier and all I ever wanted from that point on. Throughout my life it's been a common thing to get a pizza for movie night, so none really stick out in my mind. Thinking of an ideal pizza/movie night though, I would choose Back to the Future or Ghostbusters. As for frozen pizza, up until a few years ago that was half of my diet. I've had all the main brands. I was a big fan of Round Table, though they have fallen out of favor. I grew up in the Silicon Valley, and I also loved Mountain Mike's Pizza, even though there was an urban legend that it was named after a cannibal. I say urban legend because I did a search on this and came up with nothing, so I assume it was something snotty kids made up to be gross.

Pizza Hut was definitely the go to for take-out or eat-in fast food pizza, but when it came to frozen pizza. Ellio's was the only choice. Pop one of those bad boys in the toaster oven and you were all set for the night.

Not familiar with Ellio’s. But popping in a toaster pizza sounds good right now!

Growing up in the 80's and mid 90s-I was a Domminos Pizza 🍕 Snob!! And, not afraid to admit it!! I liked the garlic bread (the stix) that came out in the late 80's that was actually BREAD and, I have to be honest..I'm not a fan of dipping SAUCE for pizza. That just wasn't a thing, we were lucky enough to have/get pizza. I didn't mind Pizza Delight but..there wasn't alot of them around. I like Papa John's but, it's just too HEAVY these days
And, one thing I remember about Domino's Pizza, they used to have a slogan "Nobody knows how you like Pizza at home" As a family, for mine..anyway, we always..always had pizza at home. So we got Domino's. I do remember Pizza Hut, I've been in it 2 or 3 times at most. However, my parents had to carry me in as kid.. :)😊 ♿

Pizza Hut literally invented "American Pizza" as we know it's flavor profile and appearance.

Pan pizza was the far better please when I started the pan pizza in 1980 a pan pizza started not looking and not tasting the same. It was basically designed after a Detroit deep dish I've been all the way to the edge of the crust edge of the pan and it was in my memory in the 80s and the memory of a friend who worked for them the the very early of the 90s they truely fucked it up after it's 10 year of success
