  • After a comfortable few years in the sun, this NSX-R had it's fair share of UV damage and paint fade. In this episode we attempted to revive it to it's former glory, or close to - with our limited detailing knowledge.

I love these detailing videos. It's got that calm/ASMR appeal to it plus the cool close ups of unique cars. It's the reason why Contempo Classics and Ammo NYC are so popular. I'd love to see more of these JDM car detailing!! Maybe they have a different way of doing detailing over there?

Pro Tip: Less downward pressure on the DA will prevent the disc/pad from stalling. Marking a line on the disk is also a helpful indicator. 10:45

One of the overlooked joys of 80s-90s cars is big flattish panels. Nice and easy to wash! As to the NSX, it's the right kind of dirty. That's road grime and break dust, it's like sweat on an athlete not the dust and degradation of neglect and time.

To Aki; if you read this, if you like car air driers, then I think an offering from the likes of Metro Vac, BLO, Big Boi or even EGO would be great for you..

Looks much better. I am slowly doing this same project to my early Alphard using a mix of products and a combination of wool and urethane finish pads orbital buffer. I will see how it comes out. Its really hard to capture the eyes or other imperfections that occur in the paint with a camera. I would assume you used some detail brushes to get into the window seals, panel gaps, trunk gaps and other areas where that Japan grey/brown fallout seems to accumulate and "leak" down the side of the car every time it rains.
