Huawei should have used the same 12Mp sensor in the 3x and 10x lenses of this phone than they use in their P40 pro 5x lens. That sensor is really good (great light sensitivity) and physically only a little larger than this 8Mp sensor - so it should have being able to fit in... 🤔 But there are some leaks showing a future model with two periscope lenses and advertices "150x zoom"😏. So it might have that 5x lens with 12Mp sensor and a new 15x lens with hopefully also that same 12Mp sensor. Edit: Another benefit from that 12Mp sensor is that it is natively capable of 4K video (8Mp sensor is not).

Samsung also improved S20Ultra a lot. Really love to see the improvement in the camera department. Not only affecting flagships, now days, new launched mid-range phones also has really good cameras, thanks to the competition.
Every day rear camera sunlight pics are better on the S20 Ultra, but the P40 pro + does many things better in many different ways like you've been pointing out.
@ 23:21 , are you video recording in 60fps?,because if so, optical zoom is not available in that mode, hence the shitty 10x optical zoom in video. You should have mentioned that there are still updates upcoming for the P40 Pro+ which is mentioned on the other YT channel I just watched earlier.

Neither s20ultra or p40 pro beat pixel 4 at main camera photography. S20ultra has better stabilization, better video quality and better wide angle quality. P40 pro has better night mode and zoom. Autofocused actually seemed better on the Ultra and HDR actually looked more pleasing on the Ultra too. The zoom shots were definitely sharper on the P40 pro...but thay straight up oversharpening on the software side. The first selfie in the car the jacket color essentially switched on both phones compared to the portrait shots before. P40 pro was too overexposed That autofocus tho was definitely faster on the Ultra. Glad to see im not the only one noticing that.
Sometimes in Auto Mode I just like how dark the picture is because that's how I want it to look so now if in auto mode they're brightening the picture as if it's night mode it means I'll never get the picture I want at night. Although some people might like it. Also for me the microphone of the P40 PRO PLUS is awesome. The 20ultra is growing on me honestly but the back of the device looks better on the Huawei P40 Pro Plus. The zoom of the Huawei is really interesting considering it has more detail for less megapixels
can't believe how much the s20u improved since that horrible launch. if note20 keeps that 4x optical and has the new exynos, i might be tempted to buy it. the p40+ is quite a disappointment - ultranarrow, horizontal zoom bar in landscape, no gapps, but mostly the "10x" optical with only 8MP sensor.
Watching this on my P30 Pro, Huawei still has kicks here up until this year at 2022 with the P50 Pro 2nd rank in Dxomark is just astonishing. Still my P30 Pro is my Cam phone to keep.
s20 has only gotten out auto focus updates while huawei color inconsistency bad audio and zoom in consistency makes it far worse of a phone at launch than samsung
@@tahabadar1359 Don't bother they don't seem to grasp advanced photographic terms and how the whole thing works.. The other guy even said color consistency is your problem? lol.. No! Of course not why would I bother with a minor thing like color especially when it produces such variations between lenses IN THE SAME PHONE ? The sensor RYYB might let more light come in but it creates so many inconsistencies in color science for those that know.. It's not something that can be fixed.. Now add the different zoom lenses and when you see such variation in rendering color you will think this is something that only a phone in beta mode will allow.. And P40 Pro/+ might have amazing low light capabilities but in the vast majority of cases this competitive advantage is not compensating enough in the final result (that is when using night mode because eventually I will use night mode in low light). It even produces some weird issues with noise with night mode.. S20 Ultra might not be perfect in the color science (Apple is king in this regard as it always is , I know I have both 11 Pro Max and S20U) so I think I'll prefer a much more balanced phone with google services, no dual punch in front, 120Hz and the best 6.9 screen on market rather than a phone which is highly touted for its photographic abilities but rather produce either amazing or tragic results depending on the case..
I think succeeding updates of S20 Ultra will overpower the camera capabilities of the other smartphones launched or will launch this year. Thanks to software updates. 💯

- With the mais/wide/telephoto camera, try to zoom in some images to show us the difference in detail, especially at night, which I believe there is more difference to show.
Otherwise, great work on this challenging world condition right now and keep it coming!
Love my s20 ultra 😎 p40 looks good too 👍🏼
Same my ultra is amazing
Loving my s20 ultra
Huawei is 200 times better though

0.5x to 9x = S20U
10x and up = P40
Front Facing = P40 (although it's close)
Low light = P40 (it's not at all close)
Video:
S20U in all situations (except dynamic range at 4k30)
S20U also has 8K
P40 has slower slomo
This is my opinion, which may be skewed by the fact that I own an S20U!
Agree at all. Both are amazing smartphones.
@Brahim Kelley yeah it was blurry
P40+ is better and also on top position in DXO camera test
P40 Pro+ is literally the king! 😍🔥🔥
😅😅😅😅
P40 worst
The audio from P 40 pro plus is like you are talking using a microphone 🎤 🤣 I am not sure but there is base in it.
IMO , p40 pro+ more clarity and detail
while s20 ultra can hear like it was compressed and flattened.
Bass*
it also catch more wind noise, 20 ultra is better at outside environment. p40 also just have more bass.
really depend both are good
@@ishanpershetka2049 😂 mistake
@@gitsapongpromthep1985 Yeah, P40 Pro+ mic sounds surprisingly good! For my ears it's way better than P20 Ultra (I'm an audio professional but mic SQ is quite a lot matter of taste as well though...).
Why does the microphone sound so distorted and muffled on the samsung and not the huawei?
Because the P40 has a better microphone maybe?
@@msh3loon975 poor editing results in compression artifacts, Samsung and Apple have the best mics/speakers on the market, Huawei is not in the same league at all
@@NeverSettleForMediocrity dumbest comment ever cause in any mic comparison in these phones huawei always wins so don't be smart if all you can say is wrong. You're just a Samsung fanboy
@@NeverSettleForMediocrity Oo Fanboy 🖕
@Maxanish i think it depends entirely on the surroundings when you're recording - my huawei's mic is terrible with loud noises such as concert videos, you really get that distorted crackle, but my old iphone was the best phone I've experienced for things like that
Holy shnizels that s20 ultra autofocus is so improved I dont even recognize it anymore.
I still remember Huawei used to be really terrible in terms of video stabilization, and been only good at taking pictures. They really improved a lot in their video department.
Samsung also improved S20Ultra a lot.
Really love to see the improvement in the camera department. Not only affecting flagships, now days, new launched mid-range phones also has really good cameras, thanks to the competition.
P40+ is excellent in low light
I rather use flash lol
Mamta Guleria
Flash is faster than Night Mode and it works with video
Well you are right
@@Cocxy69 so you can use flash in room that's ok. but how you take a photo of bulidings using 600w focus lights 😂😂😂😂😂 sammys 😂😂😂😂😂
@@rizkan1996 nice answer bro
Every day rear camera sunlight pics are better on the S20 Ultra, but the P40 pro + does many things better in many different ways like you've been pointing out.
Presenting you one of the few unbiased tech reviewers #Supersafstyle
Thank you for the distinguished review of the best two phones and we wish you a detailed review of the Huawei P40 Pro Plus
Never been early like this before just to see this camera comparison! Been waiting for this 🙌
I hope the viewers understand the time and hardwork put in to these camera comparison and respect Saf and these kinda videos
wow i am impressed how samusng fixed the autofocus problem with softwares upgrades.I wasnt expecting it !
It is really good fight between Korean phone and Chinese phone.
Korean ftw
@@minttt_ yea hardward is good but trash optimize software
Love the p40 pro+ just imagine if they would fix color consistency and not focus so much on the shadows... that would be a heck of a phone!
Not in the market for either. However, I love your detail with Vs. vids. Keep it up 👍

S20 Ultra has improved big time. Best camera available now
NO
Except the video has showed that the P40 Pro Plus is the best one. Lol.
Low light and portrait and beyond 10X, the Pro + stomps as well as audio and HDR but everything else, like OIS, 8K and video generally the Ultra is better.
Virdict, well it's each to their own, your milage may vary but on the face of it.. Huawei gets more points on the photo front but videos its Samsung.
@@SDav21 4k60 on p40pro+ is broken.
Neither s20ultra or p40 pro beat pixel 4 at main camera photography. S20ultra has better stabilization, better video quality and better wide angle quality. P40 pro has better night mode and zoom.
And that 8k with proper stabilization looks amazing but most of us watch on a 1440p resolution screens so we cant see the quality
@19:32 mark amazing how each every strand of the hair have been separated from back ground by P40 PRO PLUS !!!
That's what she said🤭
best and more honest review I have ever seen...
The mic on Samsung is great.
There used to be a gap in between it's competitors , it's good seeing most phones save sounds great nowadays .

The only camera comparison I watch❣️❣️😁
Autofocused actually seemed better on the Ultra and HDR actually looked more pleasing on the Ultra too. The zoom shots were definitely sharper on the P40 pro...but thay straight up oversharpening on the software side. The first selfie in the car the jacket color essentially switched on both phones compared to the portrait shots before. P40 pro was too overexposed
That autofocus tho was definitely faster on the Ultra. Glad to see im not the only one noticing that.
Man, good job SuperSaf, great video!
Great video! I just bought the s20 ultra. Subbed.
Has autofocus improved for video now on the s20 ultra?
They are both good. But Ultra makes pictures darker and Huawei's colors are not natural ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Khusnan AA - I can suggest it. I saw lots of comparisons between both of devices and this video shows the same results.
You can from P40 with extremely better darkness details if you have a finger and know how to swipe. 🤦♀️
Super saf style 😍😍😍
An average viewer watches 5 to 6 reviews to understand the differences. But looks like this one is just enough. Great job saf!!
@4:35 omg, did you stick the dbrand teardown skin on the wrong side of the MacBook? Hehe
can't believe how much the s20u improved since that horrible launch.
if note20 keeps that 4x optical and has the new exynos, i might be tempted to buy it.
the p40+ is quite a disappointment - ultranarrow, horizontal zoom bar in landscape, no gapps, but mostly the "10x" optical with only 8MP sensor.
I'm the 10x video test, the P40+ clearly wasn't using its 10x optical zoom.
Would like to see that comparison tested again.
Guy who was driving on 1:32 slowed down probably thinking speed gun🤣🤣
We need to see bigger sensor size rather than high megapixels in the future
Which phone will u suggest hotel food vlogging specially in low light
P40 pro + upcoming updates will make it a beast

10:17 I can't see those guys in normal photo
Zoom is OMG
U can use this phone to zoom into others privacy 😆😂
Watching this on my P30 Pro, Huawei still has kicks here up until this year at 2022 with the P50 Pro 2nd rank in Dxomark is just astonishing. Still my P30 Pro is my Cam phone to keep.
I used to love my S20 Ultra even if its exynos , camera was amazing , last update and it takes 3 seconds to take a picture , sadly I have to sell it
Ye same for me, just unklick beaty mode and it takes the picture inastantly
P40 Pro+ on early software. so give it 2/3 months. you know what was S20 ultra's situation after release
Yess
s20 has only gotten out auto focus updates while huawei color inconsistency bad audio and zoom in consistency makes it far worse of a phone at launch than samsung
@@tahabadar1359 come on s20ultra colour is pure trash when it released
@@tahabadar1359 color consistency is your problem? Sad for you. Just settle with a low tech phone 🤦♀️
S20 Ultra better overall. Still, nothing beats "pitch dark scene" mode on the Huawei P series.
How could you be so early for the plus version... Thumbs up for that ❤️
I think succeeding updates of S20 Ultra will overpower the camera capabilities of the other smartphones launched or will launch this year. Thanks to software updates. 💯
Excellent, Supersaf! =')
It's difficult to find another review like this, especially featuring P40 Pro+ (most aren't "Plus"). Thank you! =')
10 years from now camera comparisons will at least be a 1 hour video, with all those extra camera's... 😂
