Me and other met noise level sound problem with smad-d3 (mi shoes)(have tested on fs7, a7r3 and a7s3) is there firmware (mine is 1.006) or explanations for this problem because we have better sound when plug sound with mini jack than digital SMAD-D3 it is not what we expected when bought this product. In a congested area, wouldn't it be better to auto scan with the transmitter off? In this example, Receiver auto scan was performed with the transmitter transmitting at 566.125, so the receiver skipped that frequency because it saw the channel as being used and unavailable, so it ended up with 569.00. In my opinion, wouldn't it be better to auto scan with the transmitter off until the receiver says it's ready to auto set...then turn on the transmitter to receive the frequency?

    Anyone have any interference issues that make it sound like there is a heavy noise gate? I am experiencing this when using these in my office's hallways that are made of metal floor panels. Cabling runs under these. As soon as I step in to a room which is carpeted the issue goes away. This does not happen at all with an analog Rode lav mic.

    • @keithhopkin

      The "interference" is similar to say a satellite radio station dropping in and out of service.

    I have been trying like crazsy to understand the menus on my UWP-D 11 system, but I am so freaking frustrated I want to throw the damn things off the bridge. Right from the start, my menus are very different than what you show here. For example, I have no Auto setting. I tried turning on the unit while holding the set button but that did nothing. In fact, the receiver would not even turn on much less seek a channel. I tried it once with my Sony camera, but the sound was so god awful I couldn't use it for anything. This sucks! Can you help me get started?

    Hello good people, i hope that who ever see this comment can clarify somethings for me. Lets say that i am intending to use this wireless system to record an interview with 2 speakers each wearing lav mic + transmitter and the whole thing is recorded on Sony NX80 which can record 2 channels of audio. Will this system record conversation of two people into channel one and allows me to record ambient sounds to the channel two or will it record each person to one channel forcing me to record ambient sound externally?
    Thank you in advance!

    Where is the “remove noise floor” button? Does not work well with Sony FS7II 😕 I really regret buying this product.

    • @klintrimus
      @klintrimus 5 лет назад

      @sonorgretsch That is weird... because Sony took back my receiver, changed a chip and firmware on the receiver. Got much better after that. But their official explaination was that my newly bought Sony system was not completely compatible with Sony FS7. Perhaps it is the shoe adapter smad-p3 that still is not compatible. Are you using the shoe mount?

    • @andrewmunitz8949
      @andrewmunitz8949 5 лет назад

      On your FS7II, try changing the camera's menu on the audio input from 'level + side' to just 'side'. That brings control to just the knob on the 'side' of the camera. Menu 'level' control can be used if you want to use the camera's handgrip scroll wheel to change audio level, but I would think you have better uses for that wheel. I think the compatibility answer you received is not quite correct...

    • @klintrimus
      @klintrimus 5 лет назад

      @@andrewmunitz8949 Will test that. But I bought this solution so I could use 4 tracks. I got this answer directly from Sony support via my distributor. I have a receipt on this "repair" as well... which I got for free of charge. There are others that have exact the same problem. The noise is the same white noise you get when my wireless is off. I have recorded the noise... so I can do a better repair in Adobe Audition.

      @sonorgretsch Well min sucks. Have turned gps off etc. Sony changed a chip and firmware on receiver. The audio goes to FS7 via hotshoe. Sony has said to me that it is not compatible with Sony FS7. I could use XLR, but then its analog. Solution was Sennheiser :D

    I just purchased a new Sony UTX-P03 (30-36 & 38-41) mic plug transmitter. I read that the new Sony UWP-D series is compatible with the previous UWP -V series. I have a URX-P2 receiver(30-32). However, even though I have both the transmitter set to the same channels (00 3001 566.125) The reciever says "No Tone" on the display. I tried the original UTX-B2 and the reciever (URX-P2) works fine. But I can not get the URX-P2 to work with the UTX-P03.
    Can you help? Is there something I am not doing or setting right? Or is the UTX-P03 not compatible with the URX-P2?

      +Brendan Lines When using the UWP-D11 wireless mic with the SMAD-P3 (MI Shoe) and the A7SmkII camera (and many Alpha range cameras), one must use the batteries that are installed in the UWP-D11. (The SMAD-P3 will do the audio connection, but should not be used as the power source for the wireless receiver). Additionally, one must go to the advanced menu on the UWP-D11, and in the “power sel” menu, tell the receiver to use the ‘internal’ batteries vs. the ‘external’ batteries. This should solve your issue. Hope this helps…

      Hi There,
      Thanks for the response, Unfortunately using the internal batteries in the receiver or externally powering it from the hot shoe seems to have no effect on the noise floor. In fact the noise floor is present as soon as you attach the SMAD to the hot shoe even if the receiver is powered off. I have noticed that you cannot control the mic level from the in camera menu once the SMAD-P3 is attached and have to control levels from the receiver itself. I wonder if the in camera mic levels default to a high value or auto gain once the SMAD-P3 is attached? The audio certainly sounds like noisy in camera pre-amps being maxed out? I managed to test the UWP-D16 with SMAD-P3 on an FS7 today, initially the levels were on auto by default when attaching the SMAD-P3 and the noise floor was just as bad. However you can manually control the gain for the hot shoe inputs on the FS7 and once I had done this the noise floor was acceptable. I'm guessing what we need is a firmware update to allow manual control of levels through the hot shoe. You can then keep the in camera mic levels low and ad more gain on the receiver side if need be. what are your thoughts?
      Thanks
      Brendan
