i have a simple square geometry in which i want a non uniform structured mesh with very fine meshing at the edges. could you help how to generate such a mesh.
does facemeshing apply for 3D? Or is this face meshing restricted to just 2D geometries? Usually for 3D i cut the geometry into many volumes of uniform cross sectional area and hope that the algorithm of the mesher can identify the sweepable bodies and do structured mesh. Else I will use multizone/sweep together with abit of edge sizing to match the number of cells in various directions. But the way I did structured mesh seem much more tedious than how easy you did it with face meshing though.
I see...yea i have been using either sweep/multibody for 3D bodies. But somehow the shapes are a clusters of irregularly shaped hexahedrals instead of neatly produced structured mesh at times.
Hi thanks for your video. I am trying to make this body sweepable ( ibb.co/cRJC8m ) What I do is: - slicing the two lateral cylinders --> which become sweepable - slicing the bottom part, i.e. restriction + bottom cylinder --> which become sweepable - slicing the hemisphere and the centrale part separately BUT they don't become sweepable in any way. Do you have any suggestion? Thank you
Yes but with lo luck. I am altro trying to slice the body in several volumes as you can see here: ibb.co/ngHDOm . Green parts are all the sweepable volumes. I try to apply the Hex dominant method on the grey parts and Sweep on all the other but the mashing fails. I really do not know what to do
Please I want your account fb or e-mail to contact you I am having trouble with structural Mesh in my example I can't use this method because I have a lot of section
ANSYS sucks big time, how come you have to do your geometry before you do meshing? it's impossible to do the meshing after its combined with the flow channel.
very good example, I gonna try it myself.
Sir can you please explain how to the above in 3D?

Hello sir, Can we create the same mesh in solidworks flow simulation?
Can you make a video on 3D Meshing.
Hi VD can you make a video on generating structure mesh for 3D structures, also the contacts issues while doing so
Did you you solve your problem? I also have trouble with creating structured mesh for a 3D geometry. Can you help me?
i have created a 2D scramjet model.but i am anable to create mesh and give boundary conditions.can you help me with it.
Please post your model and mesh attempts on your channel

You can use 'Sweep' for 3D geometry, face meshing does not work for 3D

by the way.. keep up the good work! hope to see more CFD works/demonstrations coming from your channel.
Could you please tell me how to create a flow domain for a CD nozzle issuing into the atmosphere (that is after creating the nozzle in DM)?
Watch my newest video, it covers exactly your question:

Thank you so much man. That was super helpful
can i use the same method for circle?

Hi thanks for your video.

Are you saying that hemisphere and central part cannot be swept? yes this is a common issue
Have you tried using Hex dominant method?
Yes but with lo luck. I am altro trying to slice the body in several volumes as you can see here: ibb.co/ngHDOm . Green parts are all the sweepable volumes.

I really do not know what to do
Maybe just sweep what you can, and apply a Body Sizing on the non sweepable parts, a Body Sizing works just as fine
I’m having trouble with my 4th Face Split can anyone help?

I'm making another video in this topic, this week, hope it will help you
