Thank you for sharing a bit of my teachers knowledge and our art with others. May his legacy and teaching live on! Thanks again from the bottom of my heart, Guro Mike Cardenas Black Wolf DeCuerdas Eskrima Club.
Not a problem, GM Gonzalez showed us so many techniques. But what we really took away was strengthening and polishing up the basics to generate more power. We hope his teachings lives on through his students.
Thank you so much for this video! Yes, we lost our instructor a month ago, and each day passing hurts no less than the first. He was a huge part of our lives. I'm glad you guys were able to come out to his ranch. What you guys are doing with your interviews is super cool.
Thank you, for the limited time we interacted with GM Gonzalez, he taught us a lot during the few hours we were at his ranch. He was really open on sharing and teaching. We hope his legacy as well a the Tenio Decuerdas System lives on.
I must be the luckiest SOB ever. My training in Eskrima began in 1977 in the Inayan system, an art that I practice to this day. My lineage also stems from GM Gilbert Tenio and GM Leo Giron, as my teacher, Inayan Masirib Guro Rob McDonald, also trained under both of these fine masters. Rob and I were student/teacher, and close friends, for over 35 years, until his untimely passing. As you could guess, it was old school training at it's best; it was brutal but effective, and I left a lot of blood and sweat on the training floor.
RIP to an awesome and generous GM. Thank you for your contributions in promoting FMA.
He indeed was a great instructor, teacher and person. We appreciated his old school training methods. A great loss to the FMA community.

That's awesome. I could only imagine. The days before armor and padded sticks. Are you still teaching sir?
