    a bigger thing that always bothered me is that, in basically the exact same way the Wii U supports GC games, the 3DS supports GBA games through still being a DS in many ways. Nintendo even went as far as to distribute GBA games on the system, but only through the Ambassador programme for people who bought the console early; they never sold _any_ GBA games standalone on the system.
    Just reiterates that they don't care at all about providing their old games to you in any reasonable way. At least there's also injection if you've homebrewed your 3DS

    • @albertwayne2323
      @albertwayne2323 Год назад +1

      That bothered me as well. Basically, Nintendo with 3DS and WiiU was selling you a GameCube and a GameBoy Advance too, but they never tried to use this potential. Why, Nintendo? Why? :(

    • @egon3705
      @egon3705 Год назад +1

      actually the 3DS is far more of a GBA than the DSi
      it has an entire GBA mode, the DSi doesn't and has to run them in DS mode with mediocre compatibility

    • @BALtimore2001
      @BALtimore2001 Год назад

      The decision for Nintendo to distribute GBA titles on the Wii U Virtual Console thing was bad enough. In fact, there's something about Satoru Iwata's statement that was written on the GBA's Wikipedia article around 9 years ago. That was on Nintendo Direct, and grammar WAS turning to real shit back then.

      While I agree that Nintendo SHOULD have released GBA games on the 3DS, their rationale behind the decision not to is understandable. And it isn't just a lack of care or greed.
      The firmware that allows GBA games to run on the 3DS doesn't enable a proper sleep mode, and due to the way the hardware and software interact, the battery drains way faster than it should. 30 minutes of playtime in GBA games uses about as much battery as 45-60 minutes of 3DS gameplay. Since you can't rely on sleep mode to save your battery either, this means the system dies way too fast. This also means the battery would need charged more often, and the constant draining and charging would wear out the battery faster, leading to shortened lifespans. There were also other features they wanted to implement to improve the user experience and add functionality, but they were unable to do so with the limitations of the hardware that allowed the 3DS to be backwards compatible with GBA software in the first place. So they decided not to move forward with it.
      But, again, I still think they should have put them on the eShop and given players the opportunity to do it anyway.

    Such a Good video and still boggles my mind how yeah the wii u wasnt the best of consoles but for someone who loves all of nintendos past and current games it was literally the perfect console to play basically all games other than 3DS but who knows with a matter of time maybe it will be able to as well!, but like literally it is the perfect console to get into modding and to play all of the classics and best versions of games ! Wii U had potential but aged like fine wine because of the modding scene in my opinion but i honestly do feel if they did Vitual console GameCube it wouldve done way better maybe and probably had more interest into the console if they tried to make it a all nintendo hub type console kinda what the switch is doing now but like without the nintendo online. anyways enough rambling 10/10 Awesome vid! keep it up bro!

    The only real downside to this is that there is no way to use GBA connectivity since the adapter, as far as I know, cannot support it. That's really the primary reason to still play Gamecube games on Wii or original hardware at this point, and if it weren't for that, I'd totally use my Wii U for that.
    Also, I like the Game Boy Player.

      Personally I would insist getting a GameCube controller adapter and a real GameCube controller. The VC Injector page says Wiimote emulation, and classic controller emulation. Not sure what that exactly means though.

    • @ssj99gohanisthebest48

      you can use the Wii U Pro Controller as a controller but you need a wiimote as a workaround to select "no" on the option to use Gamepad and selecting "TV mode" (or tv/gamepad mode if you want that), then once the game boots up, turn on the Wii U Pro Controller and itll be used instead of the gamepad and wiimote, the wiimote will shut off too. If you have more Wii U Pro Controllers, you can turn those on afterwards for multiplayer. If you wanna use the Gamepad and the Pro Controller as a 2nd player, just launch the game and then turn on the Pro Controller after the game boots.

      @@Mr.Welbigthose mean customizing your Wii injections to use the Gamepad as such either a Wiimote (No motion control) or as a Wii Classic Controller, some games have Classic Controller support like some fighting games (DBZ BT3 comes to mind) and injecting them this way allows you to play them using the Gamepad.

      The solution I'm aware of is a setting in Nintendont called "Memcard Emulation" which has to be enabled so that Nintendont can set up a virtual memory card for your games. I didn't really mention it since I wasn't aware it was still a problem for so many. I haven't had any issues with GCN games not saving.

    • @Mr.Welbig

      Unfortunately the Wii U will always render Wii and GameCube games at 480p and then scale it to whatever resolution your TV is. Best thing to do is leave your Wii U at 1080p. The games will still technically be 480p, but to me they look just fine. If you want a higher rendering resolution then I'm afraid your only real option is the Dolphin emulator on a good PC.
