@@alanfordyce another classic sitcom to my mind too is last of the summer wine your thoughts on this,? Personally speaking I love watching it so funny 🤣 and gentle lol I think Roy Clarke was on a winner when he wrote it granted it went on for too many years perhaps but it is still funny 🤣 to my mind another sitcom I do like largely forgotten however is Chris Barrie in the Brittas Empire your thoughts on that mate ? Point of view welcome 😁
Stanley is now 98... and still with us! - amazingly talented and a national treasure for sure. He should have been knighted years ago... Come on King Chuck, do what's right!
He is an amazing performer - no one comes even close to his talent we used to really look forward to the shows but they were so rare - now we know why - so expensive to put on. Stanley is 98 years young. Wonderful. Thanks for posting this.
Nobody had such a resume and portfolio as complete as Stanley Baxter. He did 100s of faces and accents and was 30 years ahead of his time and profession. A tremendous amount of hard work went into each and every sketch. Everything he did turned out immaculate. A true professional and legend.
A superb Entertainer & indeed a marvelous Actor, to do what he did. He truly is a national treasure,we will never see his like again . God Bless you Stanley Baxter. ❤
Watched him as a kid, loved all the funny sketches. Now I realise what a superb dancer he was. ....... and I just realised that he is still alive.... Well done. When was this made as Barry Cryer has passed some Tim ago ? R.I.P Barry.
His shows were brilliantly written and beautifully produced and must have cost a fortune to make. I don't think we'll ever see anything like them on television again.
With respect to what i see now, and also with the benefit of hindsight from back in the day. This man was a fuckin genius. No question. You had to be there to appreciate him. Stanley, god bless you and sincere thanks for the lift that you gave us all.
Thank you for this! I love nostalgia, especially in these difficult times! I’m 50 now and I loved Stanley Baxter as a child. I’m a frustrated performer who was the triple threat, just like Stanley. Weirdly enough, my first impression was of May West, when I was no bigger than a flea and just like Stanley, I’d never seen her either, but somehow my family trained me to do her. “I may be instant, but I’m no push over”, that was my line!!! What a wonderful coincidence, makes me wonder how many kids were suffering the same child abuse….😉😜🤣 Ps I loved a Vesta, especially the chow mein, lol you had to add hot water coz it was dehydrated like space food 🤦♀️ goodness knows what was really in it!!! 😱🤣
I worked for a "Posh " Glaswegian woman ....I picked up on her accent straight away and asked her "are you glaswegian"??? the look of horror on her face was hilarious
Stanley Baxter is a groundbreaking comedian in that he was the first comedian to impersonate Royalty on Television & for good measure he also did The Pope.

Britain has produced two great comedians called Stanley . The first had a pal called Ollie - this is the other one.
By far a more innovative, incisive, intelligent, and funny comedian than Benny Hill.
He looks and sounds like everyone!😂
WOULD BE GREAT IF WE COULD HEAR IT
@TheBOFAcookie ... But there's nothing wrong with the video, sound is perfecf?
What about the "Towering Inferno" piss take sketch?
🇦🇺♥️
