Lets not forget the QUALITY of this work. It's practically unparalleled. If I had to say, LotusFlowers take on gen4 & gen5 music is SPOT ON. We can't really get better quality out of "solo piano," a lot of these themes are meant for large bands & orchestras. LotusFlower is bringing out every important melodic, harmonic, and dynamic context of the music on a single instrument. The sad fact is though youtube is ran by money now. People who don't invest or monetize significantly and/or focus on viral click bait don't really get "famous." And honestly... I'm not sure that is LotusFlower's goal to begin with. With their skill I would imagine having multiple careers if not potential ones already. Lets look at it more objectively.... Out of ALL the pokemon fans, how many are actually looking specifically for piano arrangements? We can't really pin a precise number but I imagine not very many. In particular my circumstance is that of being a piano, vgm, classical, and impressionist loony enthusiast. I'm extremely passionate to the extent I would spend hours searching in other languages just to find something. Some smaller youtubers like this take a LOT of researching to actually find or in my case, searching for specific arrangements nobody else has arranged! Out of all the pianists in the world: 1. How many can play something like this? 2. How many of those can arrange something like this? 3. How many of them are interested in pokemon at all? The number dwindles the more we jump through criteria. (By playing it I mean LIKE THAT not just emotionlessly ramming through it with 0 dynamics!) Out of all the fans here, how many do you expect at least PLAY piano. Whether or not they are great, or even good enough to play these arrangements? I would imagine the vast majority of them. If they don't play piano they likely have some type of musical background of some kind that has them heavily interested in ideals that are more abstract than what meets the eyes and ears. This by default means this has less room for fame than say a pianist who has a massive pool of content from virtually everything ever. Even then, some of the best ever who once had millions of views per video now get less than 30k per video. Ever since youtube started this advertisement, monetization, and marketing nonsense... Things aren't so simple for content creators anymore. This in my opinion does not make LotusFlower any less great. I have studied hundreds if not thousands of pianists who specialize in arrangement.
