  • As more of the population reaches age 60 or older, some may be planning a move to a retirement community or assisted living. But with the rising cost of housing, many are opting to stay put. It's called "aging in place." And although they'll be able to stay in their own home, it's likely they'll need to make modifications to increase accessibility. As Brian Callanan reports, in most cases some simple adjustments and alterations using universal design principles can lead to big benefits.

    Don't forget the importance of technology as a tool to support our loved ones in aging in place with dignity and independence. By being able to ask the right questions and address potential issues proactively, we can ensure that our aging loved ones are able to #AgeinPlace with the support they need and Deserve!

    Where can we find out more about universal design options, ideas, vendors, designers and so forth. We are planning to build an ADU and would love to incorporate as many universal design features as possible.
