I don't know anything about sewing, besides hems and maybe putting on buttons. You're getting some flack for putting this video out there because it ought to be "obvious" how this is done, but I'm wary of taking a pair of scissors to a shirt I love - and could never replace - unless I've seen someone else do it first and give me the confidence to try. But my question is: won't the raw edges fray or unravel? Won't the shoulder seams start to come apart? Isn't there more to this than just cutting?
I started doing that 30 years ago you can also cut the collar out and then cut it straight down the middle towards your cleavage then it's kind of a floppy v neck😉
Well aren't "y'all" special. I greatly appreciated that she posted this quick tutorial so someone who knows nothing about sewing could have the confidence to cut up a loved tee shirt and not feel like I was going to wreck it forever. I hope she still reads comments on here and knows that not everyone is a snarky a$$hole.
I would be happier if V Neck tee shirts were more available. T-shirts aren’t cheap and to have to cut them up doesn’t make me happy. nor is it suited for mature women, it looks sloppy
I know nothing about sewing. I'm not about to take a pair of scissors to a shirt I love without seeing someone else do it first. I appreciate this demo for the confidence it gives me to try this without worrying that I'm making a huge mistake.
oh no! we hate to hear this!! our rule of thumb is there are no rules ... it doesn't have to be perfect. just stretch out the neck a bit and bet it looks great!
@@junkgypsy For sure! Off and on for a long time and even more the past couple of years I’ve seen a ton of women (me too) wearing t shirts with more of a not perfectly straight cut/“distressed” look. @megan i wore that look for the 1st time because I didn’t cut mine right, got compliments too so I went with it 😂😂
What it was about was a quick how-to so those of us who don't know anything about sewing can have a boost of confidence before we take a pair of scissors to a beloved tee shirt and ruin it forever. Have you so little joy in life that you need to bash someone who's just trying to help?

Thank you 🙏🏻
You don’t need to stitch the raw edge so it doesn’t fray?
Do you still do TV shows about junk/salvage? It’s been a long time.
I just cut above the thread line.. to make it loose.

How on earth could we have figured that out without this? 😒

I tried the first method and ruined my shirt🙃

THIS people consider a tutorial?
I do. It helped give me confidence to cut up a beloved tee shirt and not feel like I was going to destroy it. Get a grip and lighten up.
What was that about????🙄

You forgot to try it on. The yellow one was all wrong. Thankfully im not stupid to cut like she did💩
So...in what way ARE you stupid then?
You can’t be serious. I didn’t realize Captain obvious had a RUclips channel
No need to be rude… I have been trying to do this and ruining shirts for years. So this tutorial is extremely helpful. 😊
