Amazing video. Lauren and the camera guy really sold me this car. Going to buy an M850i convertible. Have the 645 convertible but this car blows mine out of the water. BMW have got this model perfectly positioned for me.
What a strikingly beautiful new 8 series convertible this model is! The blue paint is also very impressive. I'm so happy for you guys, Scott, that you had such a beautiful day to film this video, too. I just do not have enough superlatives to express just how impressed I am with this beauty!
I'm a Mercedes guy and an SL owner, but this is one good looking car. Best looking modern BMW to me. And four seats, that even fold down! So much more practical than my SL. The side profile/body and the proportions look A LOT like the SL to me, not a bad thing!
@12:00 The glass controls are in fact Swarovski crystal. As a fun bit of trivia, Swarovski wanted to charge BMW extra in order for us to call it "Swarovski Crystal controls", which BMW obviously declined in lieu of replacing our previous generation "Ceramic Controls" with "Glass Controls"!

I got a chance to drive one of these at my local M Town Tour event. The sound is incredible in person. Feels about as quick as my M4 from a roll. I'd still prefer a manual transmission though.
Ordered an 840i with x drive 2022 model, a couple of years late. Same color, Barcelona Blue Metallic with Cognac Leather interior. Expecting delivery in earl Sept 2021.

Boy.....that V8 sound is thunderous ..... for a turbocharged is really amazing. Being honest I love this car but I was not feeling these blacked out wheel on this particar one....it looks like a ricer mod ( in my opinion ).
Putting up the windows is not very cool. I would never do that, especially with neck warmers. The look is terrible. I thought the windscreen would do the job all by itself.

I love all the different blues that BMW makes, like my Santorini Blue M4 lol. This is one is definitely a head-turner!
