No doubt. I’m even going to throw Al Michaels under the bus for decades of distaste in his voice the few times they played on prime time. Unless it was an Awesome Barry Carry!
It was a difficult over the shoulder catch. Whoever says wide open doesn’t know how hard the over the shoulder catch is. You can’t follow the ball into your hand. You lose sight of the ball for a second. Awesome catch!!!
Johnson and Glenn are both outta here. Hopefully we can still put together a good staff but it’s def gonna hurt to lose them. I hate that we are a little short of our full potential bc of the injuries.
The rude part is using an actual fumble play vs the Bears to design a fake fumble play vs the Bears. From Gibbs diving like he went for the ball, to LaPorta chip blocking before sneaking through mid layer ...to O line holding blocks extra long...even the sideline yelling "BALL!!BALL!!" that was a WELL executed play. @@kaygreene3305 He saved that play specially for the Bears because they got beat by a similar play against the Packers where they actually fumbled the ball.
Listen, 50 years as being the worst of the NFL. Now that we are winning, everyone wants us to stop scoring. You know like what we were asking for for the last 50 years.
You can fake punt, fake a reverse, pull a reverse then throw for a TD into the QB’s hands, fake a field goal and throw for a TD. And other kinds of crafty plays. I can’t say I have ever seen that stunt that worked out beautifully before. Then again I’ve never seen anything like what Ben Johnson is doing. Down right a Master in a league of his own.
The analysis here is way off - they missed the fact that they did the play after the penalty call for the Bears on Johnson for unsportsmanlike conduct. Johnson smacked Craig Reynolds in the helmet which didn't get called, Craig flipped the ball in Johnson's face after the play was done as the ref wasn't looking, Johnson swatted the ball away which the ref DID catch and Johnson got the penalty. So the Lions decided to have some fun with the Bears on the next play with the 'Stumble Fumble'. That is some next level stuff. The moral is don't mess with the Lions or you will get made a fool !
Just imagine the playbook that Ben Johnson will unload in the post season..😅 Lions may have some injuries on the defensive side of the ball, but they can score at will and lead the league in point differential.
I mean, we didn't have to imagine; we saw with our own eyes last year. I just hope there will be a few less 4th-and-go's and onside kicks long before necessary. Deception has been the key in these winning plays.
Calling this play rude and being mad at Ben Johnson is really stupid. Be mad at the defense for not being better. It wasn't rude at all. It was a very smart play by the lions
Why is any play more disrespectful then any other? Lions thought a play would work and it did! If the Bears were better they may have broken it up. The point of a game is to win, as long as it's allowed in rules anything goes.

How many years was this Lions team treated like the league doormat? Teams would come into Detroit sitting players out, knowing they could beat them anyway. The commentators would mock them. "Experts" wouldn't even discuss them because they were completely irrelevant. Players from other teams openly said they wouldn't be traded to Detroit. But you know what, the fans NEVER gave up on this team or failed to show up. Even when they lost every game of the season the fans were there to go through it with this team, wearing our Lion gear. We suffered the jeering, mocking insults. The questions "why do you even support this awful team???!!!" When I see this team showing off now, I get it. They earned the right.
