i use p5kpl/1600 (lga775) motherboard with 16gb of ddr2 ram (4x2gb) and intel core 2 qx9775 (modded),it still running good with gtx 780 and it can run gta 5 80fps so i think lga 775 is petty good
hope mine my old computer works and if it does hope i can upgrade it. your comme t gave me hope for my 775. i got a pentium 4 3.2ghz and i want to see if it pairs with my r9 290 gpu. with some ram it sounds like nostalgia beast. (edit i might have to buy a new cpu i see yours came out im 2008)
Dual DDR2 memory slot is THE major bottleneck unfortunately as the (normal) max ram will be 4GB - still too little unless for light Windows 7 usage, or Windows XP for retro purpose. A C2D E8 (45nm) should be powerful enough for this situation then.
Though, if the mobo were either DDR3 or 4xDDR2, it'll be MUCH more usable with 8GB ram given. Even 6GB will benefit Windows 7 in many cases such as web browsing.

It really just depends on your own system spec, specifically CPU&RAM combo.
Just avoid pre-DX10 cards though, as only DX10+ cards supports fully-hardware HD video decoding so that CPU workload is eased. (i.e. At least an nVidia GF8000 series or AMD Radeon HD2000 series).
Pay attention if you need any gaming that requires higher DX version. For example, Valorant requires DX11, so while you can use a GT730, you CAN'T use a GTX285 even though 285 is more powerful (faster).

Windows 10 need 8GB of ram and support cpu for windows 10
@@home_speed nah windows 10 needs a min of 4GB of Ram to run but 7 will run significantly faster as it has less bloatware, more compatibility with apps supporting that generation chipset & runs abit quicker as a result. It’ll make as a good media center or simple business desktop PC

@@APZOEIRTIt's fine though JUST FINE... Even with Windows 7, 4GB wouldn't allow you for even too many tabs on modern web browsers (Chrome/Edge/etc.) due to nowadays websites being memory consuming
