I had this exact issue and was quoted £130 and a 4 week waiting time by a local vacuum repair shop. I bought the part for a few quid on eBay, and following this guide, was able to complete the replacement myself in about an hour! Thank you for this video!
For anyone else trying this I would highly recommend having good tools for it, such as the long screwdrivers with decent handles on them in the video, I had to muddle through with some cheap tools which made it much harder (but still doable!).

You`re welcome. I`m glad it helped. For sure you will need good tools, especially for the torx screws (T8). I also uploaded a new video (3 ways to fix the broken trigger issue). Is more detailed and gives you more options to solve this issue.

Great video, thanks a million, you’re 100% right they don’t make it easy to take them apart !

thanks for the help. I was confused with the trigger when re assembling it as it wasn't springing out to the off poison until I saw you slide the battery back in place then it was all clear. the other thing I had trouble with was power leads connecting to the motor. After bending then up to get them out I found it difficult to get correct angle without putting a lot of pressure on the housing which I ended up doing.

Great Vid, followed it for my V11 which was slightly different. Only problem I face now is after putting it all back together and sticking the battery in, is it turns on and stays on, from what I've read elsewhere its because i didn't push the trigger mechanism high enough or the new trigger is slightly longer - not sure. But people typically file down the black trigger button on the battery and it fixes this issue. So will have to do that.

    • @techfixPOV
      @techfixPOV  Год назад +1

Hello! This is a very good question. In my opinion, the button fails due to a design issue with the button, the button having a weak area that fails when high pressure is applied repeatedly. In my opinion, using an accessory like the one you mention would help because the pressure applied to that button will be constant and, certainly, lower than those pressure spikes when the vacuum cleaner is used without such an accessory.

The two wires you refer to are connected to the connector that powers the brushes. If those wires are not installed correctly, the motorized brushes will not work. So, make sure they are connected correctly in the electronic board. You just have to simply push them into the dedicated holes.

To everyone that put the vacuum back together and is horrified that it's not turning on - as I was - but instead only briefly shlwing three blue lines: it means you didn't plug the small white square connector back to the electronic board in properly. I suggest you go back, really push it in (it should click) and even add a nice layer of glue like it was when you opened it. Works like a charm after this!

Carefully follow the steps from minute 7:00. You have to make sure that the trigger is fully pushed and that it is fixed with the screw. It seems that the trigger is not fully pushed and the red button permanently activates the button on the battery.

    Bonjour,
    Batterie clignote bleu 10 fois.
    Pourriez vous m’aider ?
    Merci beaucoup

      Bonjour,
Your issue (battery led blinks 10 times) can be caused by these reasons:
      1. you forgot to plug the small connector that powers up the mainboard: ruclips.net/video/fjWZKlPlqCE/видео.html
      2. maybe the same connector got damaged somehow or is not properly connected.
You can check if the mainboard is powered up by pressing the button placed on the display. If the display shows nothing, probably there is a problem with the connector.
      3. the mainboard is damaged

Before replacing the button, did it work fine? I mean, are you sure that only the button was broken? Because if it worked fine before, maybe something happened at reassembly. Maybe the battery terminals are not tight enough on the mainboard or are getting in touch with each other.

Make sure that the small white connector with red and black wires is mounted correctly (11:00). Also make sure that the two terminals fixed with screws are tight and do not come into contact with each other.

The role of that plastic is to protect the electronic board from dust, water and vibrations.

That's right, it's not the easiest thing to do. But with a lot of patience and the necessary tools it is not impossible.

Sure you can! Make sure you have the new button, a plier and two screwdrivers (phillips, torx t8).

The thing that you take out at 2:39 ( with black and red wire) broke. The plastic white where the wires go. Now I have the wires free. Is there anyway to fix it? Thank you.

Try to solder both wires directly to the motherboard.
