I'm a lifelong Democrat and lean towards the party on almost all major issues. However, this is the one issue I agree with the Republicans on. We should not be shielding illegal immigrants because there is no way to track their whereabouts or know what crimes they have committed in their countries. Its just common sense that we should not be protecting fugitives.

However, the judge might have been on to something, because this way there is no appeal process, which I believe is automatic in most states if given the death penalty. It could just allow him to be deported in January, instead of living on death row for ten years and some technicality reverses to life w/out parole.
