  • Chris Hani who was without any doubt the most popular Black politician in South Africa after Nelson Mandela in the 90s, Hani was gunned down in the driveway of his home on the 10th of April in 1993. Shortly before Hani was killed, he had expressed his dissatisfaction with the negotiations that were ongoing at the time. He pointed out that there was a danger that the movement would be hijacked by self-serving interests once the ANC ascended to government. This came after the ANC was unbanned by the Apartheid government following its decision to suspend the armed struggle. Leader of Black First Land First, Andile Mngxitama weighs in.

I'm so glad that SA didn't become a communist State.
The current government sucks but a communist one would have been worse.
