    A nice feature of the DX6i when adding Dual Rates is a feature called "D/R COMBI" which lets you combine 3 switches into 1 switch. This way you don't have to change all 3 switches. Instead you flip 1 switch (from high to low) and all 3 switches (ELEV D/R, AIL D/R and RUDD D/R) automatically adjust from high to low rates. Here's how (see page 12 of the manual or...after settings your dual rates (i.e., High 100% vs. Low 70%), Turn on radio, scroll all the way down in the menu to "SETUP LIST" then scroll down to "D/R COMBI" and simply select which switch you want to combine all 3. Now you flip 1 switch and not all 3 switches which can be a pain.

    Just setting up my new DX6i and would like to offer the following comments/corrections:
    1. First do a model select and pick the model number you want to modify.
    2. Then do a model reset. (not sure if required... see #3)
    3. Then select model type Acro. Do this before any other programming since when you select model type it restores all programming to factory defaults. If you do any programming before this step it will be lost. Took me a while to figure this out.
    4. Set Reverse - Gear channel
    5. Set the dual rates to 100% high and 70% low. The video shows setting the Expo to these rates. I believe the dual rates should be in the first column and expo rates in the second column. Not sure what settings to use for Expo or if it should be left INH.
    6. For flaps it should be 100 arrow up, 100 arrow down.
    7. I couldn't get the beginner/intermediate/expert to work with the settings in the book but found these settings that seem to work: Travel Adj Gear 0 110 arrow up, Gear 1 30 arrow down; Mix 1 ACT, Gear to Gear, Act D 0%, U +125 SW Mix, Trim INH. You can observe the results in the Monitor.
    8. Any comments regarding the Expo settings would be appreciated.

    I was lucky to pick up a cheap used dx6 so bought the bnf version and followed your video.
    However I understand I am supposed to be able to see telemetry (voltage) as well.
    I have no luck getting voltage indications.
    Do i have to bind it differently to get this working?

    Again, a FANTASTIC video Fishy! Many thanks for turning the Sport Cub S2's DX6i programming information into something easy for us technophobia types to follow. The DX6 is on my list, but it will be a few more months before one is in my hands. How are you liking yours compared to the DX6i? • @superdow1000

    Great video! I used your dx6 instructions to set up with a dx8 gen 2. I think you only showed setting the dual rate to 70% for the rudder. Should aerilons and elevators also be set at 70%? Does the 70% limit travel of the rudder to 70%? I'm new at BNF. Does the panic mode button (I) work with this set up? You followed the setup instructions in the book so I assume that it will....

    • @superdow1000
      @superdow1000 7 лет назад

      LOL....I just looked at book and notice that the instructions for setting up the dx8 are very different than the dx6. In fact the set up instuctions don' appear to even apply to the gen 2 version. Most everything is working though. Cut off switch works and one of the two beginning modes seems to work. the rudder does to be traveling at 100 percent in all switch positions....at any rate, you video gives me a very good idea of how to proceed.

    • @fishycomics
      @fishycomics  7 лет назад

      Kyle Schieler If Iset my SCS up the D/R Expo OFF Switch to 1 75/40 on all three travels. Switch 2 60/40 all 3 travels. Expo is like a delay in the stick or better allows greater movement the Curve where it peaks is all going to be that expo

  • @Tman317
    @Tman317 7 лет назад

    At 5:37 in the video you set the flap down (land) value to 100, but the arrow is pointing up...just like in the normal position. That value set should be arrow down to 100 according to the manual. With it the way you set it, my flap switch had no effect when using the monitor to check things out.
    On some Dx6i's, at 4:42 in this video you'll need to set the TRAVEL ADJ for gear down to 30, instead of 40.
    Also, at 1:45 in the video it looks like he set (for the Dx6i) D/R both to 100%, and accidentally set Expo to 100% and 70%. Per the manual, with switches in position 0, set rates to 100% and expo to INH (inhibit) for all (1st column 100%, 2nd column INH). With all switches in position 1, set rates to 70% and expo to INH. Some may want low rates at position 0 and high on position 1, your preference. And these can be customized if you like...
    Otherwise, thanks for the help! Even with these issues, it helped me learn how to navigate the Dx6i.

    • @bedub1
      @bedub1 5 лет назад +2

      You did it! Thank you so much! Setting TRAVEL ADJ for gear down to 30, instead of 40 enabled Intermediate Mode! I was stuck at either Easy, or Advanced. Now when pushing left, then rotating the plane, everything stays like it should until it tips too much and then bam! Flaps ignore my input!

On one radio your showing DR set 100% and you set the Expo 70% on the DX61 and on the DX6 your doing it only on the DR 100/70% and not touching the expo so just asking anyone what is the real setup for the DX6 . Do you leave the DR all at 100% and drop the Expo the 70% or is it only changing the DR and not touching the Expo? If anyone knows or has a link to a video walking one through the Sport Cub setup on a DX6 ....Thanks for any help..

    you move the dual rates to 100% high and 70% low not the amount of expo. in the dx6i portion of the video you left both low and high rates on 100% and moved your expo wich will just soften the sticks, servos move slower in the center, kinda hard to explain. watch the video by Flitetest on DR and expo, they have props/models to explain it and do a great job doing so. otherwise thanks for the video.

    Your video is very usefull, but, I think you dont set the dual rate but the expo(INH). Is that way you are showing us an easiest way for beginner flyers?Set Dual Rates
    to:
    HIGH 100%
    LOW 70%

      Perhaps you could edit out the dual rate segment and add the correct way to set the dual rates.

      +fishycomics Hi, please excuse me I am slow to learning this and new at the hobby. What specifically is wrong in your video vs. what has been said in the comments? If I am set up as you have shown in the video for the Sport Cub am I good with the DX6i? Thanks for your help and appreciate the videos!

    Stupidly confusing to put dual rates on three different switches

    • @Tman317
      @Tman317 7 лет назад

      Eric sin sinner You can assign all of these rates to one common switch using the D/R&COMBI menu option on the Dx6i...

      YES thats my point, no reason to separate each D/R per axis, and I suggest getting rid of the DX6i
