What's the actual role of HR in a country like the US where the workers don't have any safety net and where they can be replaced at a moments notice? Seems like you can solve any problem by simply firing the worker and replacing them? It feels like it's much more complicated in Europe where labour laws require you to solve issues and releasing a employee is not the first option or an option at all.

There are a few discrimination laws protecting certain classes like minorities and older workers. These usually don’t mean anything when the company can just come up with a bullshit reason to fire an employee. That’s when you need a lawyer.

Perhaps it'll go the other way, which may be perceived as even worse, where the robots are managing you.
