I haven't seen you guys eat a typical burger with the lot from your local fish & chip shop. Can't beat a good burger or even a good steak sandwich from your local. 👌
For an authentic Australian hamburger, you have to have one made by the GREEKS. NORMALLY called Constantine's seafood shop or anything Greek named fish and chip shop. Perfect original Aussie hamburger 🍔. I love Pommy Pubs. I love the quirky names, Fox and Hound etc. The exposed beams, cosiness, fire places. Etc just stunning and so atmospheric. ❤❤❤ Favourite pub was in Edinburgh and Loch NESS. Divine.❤😊
GYG was started in Australia by two Americans (not their names) and has been very successful here. They have since opened restaurants in the US as well. You can find Mexican restaurants in Australia but they’re usually owned by South Americans or Aussies who have visited Mexico. We tend to lean towards European and Asian foods since they’re a big part of our migrant population. I’m on a low sodium diet so GYG doesn’t pass the sodium test. I love the hard shell tacos because the hard shell has a lot less sodium than the soft. I used to have the Barramundi taco with lettuce and tomato, no pico and no guacamole, but it has been deleted.
The Mooloolaba Surf Club also do a great Sunday roast. Plus Fish Bowl Moffat Beach. It is not just fish but healthy salad bowls with some protein like Poke bowls.
I find the food at GYG to be ok, but the major deterrent for me, at least where I’ve tried it here in Bendigo, is that they have the music up so loud in the store, that I found, when I was ordering that I had trouble hearing what the server was saying. I had questions relating to my order, but it just became too hard to communicate, so I just ordered anyway. I have no plans on returning there. From memory, when I went to one in Canberra, I experienced the same issue
i'll never understand people that are too good for fast food. yes it's not the best, no you wouldn't eat it every week. but it is popular because it's good enough, consistent and conveniant.
6:22 The waitress did go above and beyond because the condiment station is self serve but she brought it to your table. Comparing Guzman y Gomez to Taco Bell is really rough. They are definitely way better
It's the best and healthiest "fast food" place, with great food! Love the burrito bowls (ie, naked burrito!) with pulled pork or brisket, with sour cream and guac!
I've mentioned this place before, but i would like to see your reaction to eating at the Fox & Hounds country inn located at Wongawallan. It's an old English pub that does English pub food.
I was surprised that GYG attempted entering the American market so early in their international expansion, I would have tried Europe first. Your feast looks quite good so glad that you both enjoyed it. Try a banh mi / Vietnamese pork roll if available locally.
Loving the channel. Me and the fam have been here since 2005, living in North Brisbane with family on the Sunny Coast. A suggestion for somewhere to try is Fryer of Whitby in Brightwater. It is an English fish n chip shop. See how you think it compares to back in UK?
Somebody once dared me to eat whole habanero chillies, so watching Joe drink the habanero sauce brought back memories. Not good memories however. The next day was not fun. The best thing to counter the chilli burn is milk.
@@EatVentureVlog I learned pretty quick that lots of chili or even a little strong chili or Jalapenos need to be eaten with large quantities of rice to absorb the oils. I like chili, but not to the point where it overpowers the taste of the vegetables, rice, chicken or prawns. So for an Indian vindaloo I'd ask for mild or medium chili depending how much rice is served.
I recently tried Guzman & Gomez in Brisbane and ordered an iced coffee which was okay & a California chicken Burrito. The contents of the roll itself were great but the actual roll was a little soggy. The last burrito I had was toasted and crispy, but that was years ago so maybe I've been spoilt?
It's another chain joint but I just had the best beef nachos that I have ever had in my life at TGI Friday at Sunshine Plaza. Better than a lot of Mexican restaurants that I have been to in the US.
😥Sorry guys but the only 😥good thing about this place🤗 is the Margaritas.💋💋💕💕💕🫶🫶Too much beans and rice,😵💫not enough meat.😵💫Years ago there was🥰 a place called Rusty,s.🤩They were in the sunny coast.🤔Don’t know if they are still there 🤔but they were amazing.🤩💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋
@@EatVentureVlog Off Tap tapas Marcoola might be the best Mexican restaurant on the Sunshine Coast and it's not far from Coolum. The reviews average 4.8 to 5 stars out of 5.
@@EatVentureVlog I think it takes a bit more time preparing so you might see quite a few get their orders before you on a busy night, but it's worth it!

Oporto Portuguese fried chicken has a branch at Birtinya west of Warana. Might be worth a try on a rainy day when you don't feel like driving too far.

If you make it to Hervey Bay there's a few burger joints here you can try. A few spotted on the Esplanade & others in town.

Find a good takeaway shop and get a works burger and chicken salted chips.
The 1st G&G in Qld was Brisbane in 2012 which is what I guessed, correctly. Wasn't aware they'd been in Sydney for 5 years before they started in Qld.

If your going to keep with the fast food theme, some other Aussie ones to try are Oporto, Grilled or Betty’s Burgers.

Someone's a silly sausage doing that hot chilli sauce. 😂
Instant regret 🤣

How about The Cheesecake Shop? Baskin Robins and Brumby’s?
Yes their great options, we’ll take a look 🙏
Breakky burrito (you can get a veg one) and the breakky bowl is good as well. Their hash browns and coffee is pretty good.

No mushroom taste. Good, I'll try that one.
Love fresh churros with chocolate dipping sauce or a nice French vanilla ice cream.

If you are on the Sunshine Coast try Caloundra or Maroochydore RSL (Returned & Services League) club.
Please review this Vietnamese restaurant in Maroochydore, Nguyen Brothers Kontiki Center. It has the best ever Pho.
Pulled pork Cali at least once a week
Nachos are way healthier than hot chips and I love the crunch. Churro - chu-rrro
I would starve in Mexico. Not my idea of food. It is 39,4c here at the moment so I do not need warming up.
