- She was only 10 years old when she played the iconic character Scout Finch in “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Now, actor Mary Badham is taking the stage in the first national tour of the theatrical version of “To Kill a Mockingbird,” but as a totally different character. This time, Mary is playing Scout’s mean neighbor, Mrs. DuBose. Inside Edition caught up with her and her castmates backstage at a rehearsal studio in New York City.
This perfectly describes the quote “that aged well.”

I think TKMB is the one of the few books whose movie is very accurate and enjoyable. Robert Mulligan did justice to this story RIP.
and future director Alan J Pakula
This is an American classic. It’s just as relevant today.
_"I'm 54 years old & that was a FAVORITE movie of mine as a young boy"_
*~CSD*
I loved this scene and what he told Scout."You never really know a person till you have walked in his shoes" I know it was something like that.
I am from the Deep South and grew up in the 60s on a street so much like Scout did. We even had an old lady who acted like Mrs Dubois. She was so crotchety and used to run us off all the time for picking her apples off the ground. She didn't eat them and didn't want us to either lol I was "Scout" on my street and would gather all the kids together to wait until she left her home to get the apples lol Those were the "good old days" for sure.
This is amazing and absolutely beautiful. It’s videos like this from Inside Edition that make me happy.
Richard Thomas is brilliant in everything he did. And it's so fun to catch up with "Scout!"
I respect her for putting her family first
Incredible! Thank so much for sharing this !
In 1962 I was 13 and this young girl was 10 so we were both kids when this movie came. out.
The book and the movie 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
I read the book all the time in senior year.
My English teacher is literally having us read kill the mockingbird today
My favourite book and movie.
My favourite movie of all time. ❤️🙏😌
We just watched this movie again. I have to watch it every few years, it’s to keep my morals in line.
How beautiful that young girl is! A great child actress when being ten years old.
Stunning for age 69. I sure do hope you come to my city. Safe travels.
One of my all-time favorite movies!!
i love that film
I saw this in Austin, Texas in 1963 when working on desecrating the theater it was shown in. Later, I learned that the girl who played the woman accusing a black man of rape was one of my trainers in the Living Love Movement in Berkeley CA in 1974. She's a Brit. Small world. We did desegregate that Austin movie house.
AMAZING! ❤️✨
The Witching pool is my favorite Twilight zone episode That she was in and To kill a mockingbird is still one of my favorite movies 🤗💞
In Twilight Zone she played a character named “Sport”. She had a reputation of playing character with unusual names for sure!

National tour premieres in Boston, Massachusetts in April! Going opening night 😎
I just finished a unit in school about TKAM, this is awesome

I just saw this production tonight every one was brilliant, the acting the writing. Mary Badam as Ms Dubose was hilariously accurate. Thought provoking as it reflects also the times in which we live through humour and the horrors of racial injustice.
I’ve seen the movie six times I’m hoping to see on Broadway
I've always had a romantic crush on Mary Badham ever since I saw her in the Twilight Zone's, "The Bewitchin' Pool."
Yep. It was a very good movie. I remember everything.
I watch that Movie. I when Was younger teen from middle school.
And the fact that this book can’t be read in school anymore… mind blowing!
Wait why? I read it when I was a freshman in high school
It is assigned reading in most schools.
Her age is by far the best part about her. She is 69 years old. That is a number i rarely see in age. She is now my favorite person for being age 69.
Atticus Finch is a certified G

Wow
Congrats
Wow indeed
Wow
yes
Perhaps somebody needs to do their research.
For someone that
"Didn't really pursue their acting career".....
Mary Badham went on to have numerous parts in films and stage work.
She played an iconic role as little sister Willie, in
"This Property is Condemned" 1966. Along side Mr. Robert Redford, Charles Bronson, and the stunning Natalie Wood.
Surely the crew at
Inside Edition should know all of this. 😆😆😆
Damn I remember watching that movie in 8th grade just a few years ago
Wow she looks great! Btw, that elderly lady that needed attention was “Ms Agnes” for me.
She was great in the play !
I miss the old days... when you could own a... you know..
One of the scariest parts of the film in my opinion was when boo Radley hid behind the door in scouts room
We watching that in school

I seen that movie in my middle school but not all completed movie. I had no idea of the title of this movie but I do rmmber that this movie is about a girl found all items inside the tree hole, n a neighbor old grumpy man, cover the tree hole with a cement, n never c mystery items that r inside the tree holes. Not only that, the girl never went to school, because she’ll end up fighting with other students again.
We can all agree that this channel is always making us happy.

Have you never read the book or seen the movie? Sounds like you need some culture. Try reading, going to a museum or the theater once in a while.
I only heard about it, I still ask why one ☝️ want to kill a beautiful bird 🐦 ? maybe long ago people think 💭 savagely thank you 🙏
What a funny age
Hi
My favorite movie and book ever!🥰❤🧡💛💚💙💜 I wanted a l little girl soooooo badly so I could name her Scout. I had four boys. Named the first one Atticus though!
omg Scout would be such a terrible legal name for a human being hahaha, i'm so glad for your children's sake that you didn't do that!!! even the "real" Scout from the book is not NAMED Scout, it is just a nickname.
@@virg0_lem0nade lol, well it probably would have been a middle name. I'm pretty sure my family would have revolted if it was a first mame.
