I've experimented for years doing high carb low fat, high fat low carb, keto, Paleo, I've done them all just to see how my body responded as an athlete, and I always felt better on moderate to low carb diets. Being in a caloric deficit is important, but the way you get to that deficit and the macros of that deficit can change the way you feel
