They're essentially the same bike as the SP you had but different bars and it uses the Tracer swingarm. I love the look of it, personally would've bought this over the SP.
I’ve been watching tests on these and was starting to think they were a commuter bike😂 but after watching yours I’m now happy that it’s a good bike cheers I’m going to pull the trigger and get one now 👍🏻
Nice one, it is definitely one of my favourite bikes at the minute. It is probably the best production engine for me, maybe better than the Aprilia V4, more engaging than the Yamaha CP4 as well...
Got one last friday. Came from an R6. LOVE IT. Seat does need a little more cushion. Waiting for Luimoto to get there cover for it. Its not bad just gets uncomfortable after an hour. R6 was worse
Nice one, it's an epic bike. I think It has one of the best engines in production today. Shame about the seat, but as you say, comfortable by R6 standards👍
Had mine a week. First impressions, really strong engine, sweet gearbox, very taut chassis, nice brakes. Goes like stink in other words. First triple I’ve owned and I will confirm the CP3 is everything they say it is.
Good to hear that you are enjoying it, I have owned and ridden triples from Triumph that are great, but there's something special about the Yamaha CP3.
I ride the same bike. It's a great machine. Dare I say it; best bike I've owned? (And I've owned many). Not the fastest/premium/most expensive/best looking I've had. But packaged engine/fun/vfm/looks? Difficult to beat
I really want one, I had the MT09sp before this was out, and now I have an Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory. I love the Aprilia, but I could see myself owning one of these - I think that 3 cylinder is one of the best engines in all of motorcycling
I love the Tuono, but I do oddly miss the MT09 a little and sometimes wonder if I really need 175 horsepower. As you say the xsr is basically just a better looking MT09, although it does actually feel a bit different to ride, less upright, maybe a bit more engaging in the corners, I was impressed with the quality finish. I dunno what I might do, maybe buy something completely different like a Harley (that Sporster s thing looks cool 😎).
Yeah, not great. It's not terrible, but it could certainly be better. I think the padding is a little thin, and it's not the widest seat, I started to notice it after just an hour in the saddle. It wasn't a case of "I need to get off this bike..." but I'm sure that would set in after 2 hours or so.
Seat is easily fixed. Any half decent upholstery shop can add and shape foam to your spec, retaining the factory cover for less than 10% of the cost of a Corbin or Kelpi. I added 20mm of memory foam with some up-slope and shape - perfect now.
Absolutely love mine

What made you want to test ride one of these? Tired of the Tuono?

Regards from Croatia of future owner of mt09sp
Cheers, enjoy that mt09 🍻
