- Just to the south of Vlore Albania lies forgotten soviet-communist history which we decided to explore.. Later we ended up in Gjirokaster, one of Albania's most beautiful cities where a lovely Albanian girl showed us a nuclear bunker built by the former dictator, Enver Hoxha.

Adventure Elliot is a bilingual travel vlogger (English and Spanish) with a particular interest in the Spanish speaking world. I enjoy taking adventures - big or small - and my goal is to show the Spanish speaking world 1 video at a time.
The goal of my channel is simple yet complex: I want to document and share authentic & educational content of anything related to Adventure Travel, Geography, & Language in the Spanish-speaking world. It's kind of a loaded topic, but it allows me to never exhaust my creative outlets. The truth is, I've always been extremely passionate about what I'm doing on my channel, but I never properly documented it when I started adventuring as a younger man in my college years. I've made over 150 RUclips videos in both English and Spanish, and I have aspirations to make 1000s more. If that sounds interesting to you, join the community and follow me along the way.. After all, we're just getting started.
Amazing to learn about the unique history and hidden stories of Albania. As a travel vlogger who hasn’t been there yet, this series has definitely got me interested in visiting and sharing my experiences. Thanks for highlighting such a cool spot!
Another stellar video! We need that Cali vlog!
That’s a crazy beach I’ve seen a North Korea beach video that had a similar barrier 😬
Another awesome video love it ❤❤🙌🙌
Keep em coming bro 👊🏻
So cool Elliot ❤
Helgoland got some submarine bunkers as well if i remember correctly, never saw them myself, was to busy enjoying the beautiful nature and surroundings, highly recommend to anyone travelling Europe
That particular bunker that t was blocked on the back. That used to be a Police check point. On both sides of Llogara pass, used to be check points. I know this because , Vlores is my hometown. In 1986 I got a driver's license and worked for 7 ,or 8 months driving Soviet made ZIS, dump truck. I use to drive two times a week , Vlore, Dhermi, And let me tell you all The truck I was driving , No power steering! Mechanical clutch, , going down on serpentine road I had to stop, and back up to make right turn and left turn. On way back going up fully loaded , Olives, or Oranges, first and second gear all way up to the pass . It Tok good part of the day just climbing mostly in first gear. Walking would've been faster. Anyway, thank you for the video, It brought back memories. Good memories, Albania wasn't that bad . Just Communist! LOL. I don't think it can be compared with North Korea! I don't know what North Korea is ? Communist by name . Insane Country.
wow, what a coincidence you found this video of your hometown! 😍
Fantastic video! Thank you!
Now this is some real adventure.
@5:50 You deserve a like, just for that reference. 👍🏾 Gabriel has great travel content, just like yours.
i was in albania for 5 years ago.when i came to tirrana,i thougt i going back to 1980s .... but when you ask about albania to a albanian.oyyyy he tells its like paradise :-p
Five years ago, Tirana was like in the eighties? Are you kidding , gipsy? And please, learn some english, because like this, is so obvious that you're a gipsy 🫣
Depends when you been. Some towns are less developed but definitely it has changed a lot compared to 10-15 years ago. Nature though is amazing.

Another great video about Albania. This this my new favourite country - three trips so far and that's just not enough for me so will go back again later this year. Really great people and I am sure this country will boom (economically) very soon.
Keep trying. More fake comments & propaganda. thanks to criminal activities.
Actually Enver Hoxha's paranoia was justifiable. Everybody wanted slice of Albania. More than half of the Albanian territories after the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1912 & the WW1 & 2 (superpowers of that time ... especially UK & France) gave away Albanian land to the other countries like Greece got our Albanian territory in Greece called Chameria, the island of Corfu & the old Albanian Capital of Janina. Slavic Macedonians got our Albanian territory of Kosova Vilayet & the ancient Albanian city of Shkupi (aka Skopje) which consisted at that time mostly (90%) of Albanians. More than half of Macedonia even today is populated with Albanians. Also, North Macedonia is the birthplace of the Albanian blooded Alexander the Great (which Greeks falsely claim was a Greek, Ugh) & of course the world famous Roman Catholic Albanian nun Mother Teresa which was born in Shkup. Serbia was rewarded with the Albanian Republic of Kosova & Kosova's majority was Albanian then & now. Kosova finally declared its independence in 2008. Also Serbia still holds hostage our territories of Presheva Valley, the Sandzack province & the ancient Albanian city of Nish which are still part of Serbia. Montenegro got our ancient city of Ulcinj which even today in 2024 its majority is Albanian. You still think Enver Hoxha was paranoid? Well ... as of 2024 Greece is still in war with the state of Albania. They have a 'War Law' which was declared to Albania dating back during the WW2 & Greece still refuses to lift that although Albania & EU have asked Greece to do so. The reason Greece has that war law is because during the WW2 when Italy invaded Albania - Albania at that time did not & let the Italy declare war to Greece from Albania & after that declaration Italy (& Germany) attacked Greece. How sick is this Greek thinking ... blaming Albania for not stopping Italy from attacking Greece during the WW2 in time when Mussolini was Italy's leader. Ugh.
Complete bs & Albanian propaganda. Delusional

Mara Branković (Serbian Cyrillic: Мара Бранковић) or Mara Despina Hatun (c. 1420 - 14 September 1487), in Europe also known as Amerissa, Sultana Marija or Sultanina, was the daughter of Serbian monarch Đurađ Branković and Eirene Kantakouzene. As the daughter of Despot Đurađ, wife of Sultan Murad II, and stepmother of Mehmed II the Conqueror, she came to play a significant role in the diplomatic negotiations of the Ottoman Empire. She became a leading member of the pro-Ottoman party in the Balkans and one of the most powerful women of the 15th century.
Got bored of Spain....???!!!
My channel is about many countries.. in the USA now
All these places you visited have a strong greek minority (especially Cheimara). You've been to close to my island, man!
@_juan.joao_.... Greece has a large presence of Albanian populations spread across the entire territory...in this case we are not talking about minorities but about dominant Albanian populations even in Athens...It is no coincidence that most of Greece's national heroes and their first leaders were Orthodox Albanians
