Hi Tom, great show as usual. I think the left side of Arsenal ( from attack to defence) was our weakest link last season and I feel like that will be our focus this window
Gabriel and Saliba - Starting CB pairing
CALAFIORI and White - as starting FB's also being able to cover at CB if so needed
Kiwior and Timber - can cover both CB and FB positions when needed
Tomiyasu - can play anywhere across the back line
That is insane cover and depth in every position and i'm hoping it should mean we don't have to see Zinchenko back there anymore but we probably will (he should be fighting for a starting 8 spot or be sold IMO).
I'd take Calafiori as a starting gambit for the summer window, however there is more to be done.

I must say talking of inter milan I quite like the Albanian winger who scored a couple of real bangers in the euros. He's on inter Milans books but almost never plays and quite often doesn't make the bench he looks a real player plays right wing but has a sweet left foot and scored two goals in the euros with shots from outside the box. I do think we need to start looking at player who don't play for fashionable teams teams like dortmund leipzig and other teams of that ilk are not afraid to sign unpolished gens. Ass a club we are starting to do this hence why kiwior was signed. And I think kiwior has improved dramatically since arriving at arsenal there is room to grow with kiwior and I have noticed how he has come into midfield when we attack which is not easy to do but kiwior and tomiyasu have added this to their game and they are only going to improve more. I would be dissapointed if we sell kiwior I think there's a player who's going to be outstanding in the next 18 mnths or so. I would rather us sell zinchenko because I feel zinny isn't really going to get any better than he is already. I get there's going to be a temptation to sell kiwior especially when we would be almost doubling our money spent on him. But milan wouldn't be offering close to 30 million for kiwior if they didn't think that he's going to be top class inside two years or so. Keep kiwior and keep polishing this rough diamond and see where it takes him and us.

Tom, great video. Would be interested to compare him to Zinchenko in errors leading to big chances.
We also have to factor in the higher transfer fees for players we have to pay today due to inflation, but more so because of the over-paying for players from the likes of Chelsea and Utd in recent years. Now, compare that to when Pep was initially buying and selling players until getting it just right - not to mention they never had a direct rival with an ‘obsession’ of hijacking/poaching any target or player they had. Unfortunately, some of our own fans, but especially rivals, ignore some inconvenient facts when they make these ridiculous manager-spend arguments. Let’s not forget, Arteta took the helm of a sinking ship mid-season, did not have a summer window nor proper preseason (COVID), and the bulk of Arsenal’s spending under Arteta has come in the last two summer windows, NOT in his first year, unlike most new managers he gets compared to. Context is hard, isn’t it? Keep up the great work, Tom!
Very true mate, you think how our rivals looked and laughed at us before he arrived seeing us waste wages and fees on awful defenders think £35m on mustafi defence was always an after thought under arsene and unai emery

Where does Timber fit into all of this?
A full back option
Timber was bossing it as LWB before he got injured. We haven't been playing with 3 at the back, rather with 2 wingbacks. Timber needs to start. For me it seems like a signing based on market opportunity, just like Sesko would have been.

I don't like this signing personally. It strikes me as though we are signing him based on a couple of performances in the Euros. Why were we not interested in him beforehand. It just smacks of an Amrabat type of signing. I am willing to trust Edu and Arteta but personally I have big doubts.
Remember when I said that Arsenal have put in work to keep their targets secret.

@@TheGoonerTalkTV going by Sesko and Gyokeres it’s striking options. Like I said I am prepared to trust them and will fully admit I’m wrong like I did about Kai. I hope I am wrong and if he joins us I hope he becomes a legend! I just have my doubts currently.

He should replace Gabriel, we need for ball progression and more defenders comfortable on the ball
Gabriel was our best defender and possibly player in general last season. He is a decent progressive passer but first and foremost he‘s an absolute tank of a cb who is powerful in the air and agile during 1 on 1s. Calafiori is quality but he absolutely would not walk into arsenals first team and replace Gabriel. That cb partnership got us by far the most clean sheets last season. Gabriel disrespect has been stale since like 2021
He ain't gonna replace Gabriel, yet.....
We were very lucky we didn't lose either of our cb's last season,so having him would be a good back up also
@@-Gooner76- yes he would be a fantastic backup and probably could play at left or right back as well. He may eventually replace Gabriel but he’s only 26 so I wouldn’t expect it anytime soon as long as we still have him
@angusmacd7052 I hope we don't lose Gabriel I love him with Saliba! But was rumours last summer hey, so think might be a signing for a year or two to step in,but who knows?! Just glad the window seems to be starting for us!
