I got it on special for 6 bucks. So I can't complain. There are very few meters out there in the 10 dollar range that have NCV, Capacitance and 6000 counts. We have a bunch of those 830 meters at my job stuffed in PLC cabinets around the plant. For costing next to nothing they do pretty good for checking low voltage DC and 4-20ma. If we put anything more expensive in the cabinets they would probably get stolen. It also saves from having to walk half a mile back to the shop to get a fluke when all you want to do is a signal check.
@@KeepOnTesting yo Darren, great video as always. Hey, I was looking for a playlist for the soldering stations and could not find one. What's the best soldering station with hot air that you recommend ?
@@MaximusAmerica2605 Thx my friend. I'm in the midst of reviewing a slew of soldering irons and stations. If you can wait a couple weeks I'll let you know my best recommendations. 👍
Do you have any advice on buying replacement fuses? I searched Amazon for "multimeter fuses" and all of them seem to be approximately twice the size of the ones in my Mastfuyi fy-77. I measured mine at 5x20mm, but I could only find glass fuses in that size.
@@KeepOnTesting I have an F10A and an F250mA, both 700 volts. They are also marked with a symbol that looks like a Z in a circle, followed by the number 5.700 I'm not in a rush, I just want to order a few to have them on hand before I need them. I'm sure I could find them on Digi-Key or Mouser but Ebay also sounds like a viable option. I just wish they had used a more standard fuse. I just ordered another model from the same company because it's Amazon Prime day and they're pretty much giving them away. Hopefully they're at least the same values so I don't have to track something else down as well. Thanks for the advice.
Man...I've never seen such lousy performance from cheap probes; that was a huge difference. I like that little sticker on the current jack. It might just be enough to make a noob pause and wonder why it's there. Love the outtakes.
Yea, another case of a good continuity range crippled by crappy leads - many times ive had to use various methods to get decent response out of some of the cheapo leads, but many times a good cleaning will surprise ya but ive even had to resort to fine steel wool in worst cases, I think theres a left over plating film or something in some cases that inhibit good contact - the probmasters really woke this one up-!!
I being a female just seen this little cheap multimeter and bought it thinking i would be able to check my hotn relay or fuse but i truly dont know what to set it on every video i e saw doest have this type of i dont even know what this is called around the knob that turns it off an on. Could someone please tell me where to set the knob (the oart that turns it off snd on) just to check my ruses and relays? I truly would appreciate it more than your ever know.
No problemo..put the multimeter into continuity mode , it's the same selector switch setting as diode mode in the video. You should see this symbol ○))) (its between 10A and 600(Ω) )..now test your fuse and if it's a loud constant beep the fuse is good, no beep..means it's bad..😊

CHEAP-O Multimeters can certainly do the trick...6$ is one helluva price ! 😀 good find.
That's for the review Darren
So the $10 meter is okay as long as you go out and buy a $20 set of leads for it....... Good of you to review it anyway 👍👍
Hehe..good point 👉 👈

Hello Darren nice video!!!Leds no Bright because is not enough juice in this multimeter mnnn habotest looks great at side of Mastfuyi
Hello Wladimir, much thx! Yes this little dmm needs more juicy lucy to get that led party started! Glad you liked the review👍

10A or low current 400-600 mA ?
Either way Ebay is usually your best bet !

So true Eric, those probes seemed awesome until continuity...eeeechh !
😃👍
This Multimeter vs CATiV?
Not bad for $10. But thee are better options out there for a little more $. As always, thanks for the thorough review.
Thx Pete..indeed 👍
GREAT

You're definitely right about cleaning up those leads Mike...dang the Probemasters always impress 👌

Omg I thank you so much I'm just now seeing your comment do I have the settings on the same to check a starter relay?
I just got it as part of a secret santa gift, along with a ratchet set that smells really bad lol
😂 Let's blame Santa ! He likes to ratchet things up this time of year..muhahaha..congrats nonetheless, decent little dmm !
If that's really $10 then It's not that bad at all. The cheap Cr&p I've seen locally lately costs twice as much and last hours before they break.
True enough 👍 Selling bundled with the dmm case was quite the feat for this price!
average performance, but 6000 counts meter for $10? can't ask much more.. i kinda like the rotary labeling design, looks simple, easy to read..
Yea the Rotary selector switch is well designed and very easy on the 👀
Oh my......
😃
The name not only does suck but its so hilarious 🤣 don't ask me why, go figure out yourself! 😁.
Oh yea Bhushan! I shake my head sometimes when I see these names.. 😃
