I'm sorry, but am I the only one who really didn't like Backslide? Feels like I am, but I thought it was so decieving.

I know there’s a few people who agree with you, I respect it not being your cup of tea but MAN the production and lyrics come together to make a 3:00 long banger. It doesn’t drag, it’s not too short. It’s perfect and does what it needs to for track 3 on the album.

@@SkrStudioss The production does slap, there's no way to deny that. My problem has more to do with the music. It feels so shy ans is so hidden behind Tyler's vocals, which are great, but, I don't know, it's dissapointing I think. I feel like there could have been a way better version, one where the music and vocals shared the stage way more.
What I would say is that, the Twenty One Pilots fan in me is "satisfied", and that the music fan is, kinda dissapointed.
I do respect everyone's opinion tho, was just curious becaus it felt like everyone was eating this and I was the only one that wasn't.

@@blackhomard0 yeah I can see myself liking it a bit less overtime just due to the repetitiveness but I do think all of Clancy is going to be very experimental and play with the production in a way where the vocals may be layered and more present in every song. I’m not sure. I do understand what you’re saying though. Overcompensate and Next Semester do have better melodies overall but there’s something about Backslide that keeps me going back to it.

i’m really expecting midwest indigo to be kinda rock-like. i don’t want someone to confirm or deny this. i’m not coming into it with too many expectations since i don’t know and don’t want to be disappointed. i’m not going to a listening party and it’s going to be a LONG week of waiting. i really hope i like it 🙏🙏😭

Midwest Indigo sounds like the Mulberry Street of the album. Itll probably be catchy for the first few listens but itll get old quickly.
