If only there were more stories about these guys as purple's one of my favorite colors. I'm glad Lord Harry, excuse me, Patrick learned a tough lession. Two words to you, Patrick. Rock on! ^_^
3:33 I actually repeated that to myself almost all of my sophomore year (I’m a senior now) and that seemed to work because that’s been my most successful year so far.
The thing that amuses me about this story is that, for once in this series, when someone is warned about something, they take it seriously. Maybe it's the danger of working on a mountain, maybe No.6 had learned his lesson from losing his name, but he took Culdee' warning about Devil's Back to heart and someone's alive who might not have been if he hadn't.
It's probably because of their other faces. With mighty mac it makes sense, but with these,it's awkward, useful, but awkward. But who knows, maybe in later season we'll see them, the railway was mentioned in the Standard gauge and Narrow gauge video.
@@Thebreakingbadthomasfan23 It was sadly confirmed that the incident was indeed real in the official guidebook by Awdry "Sodor: It's People, History, and Railways".
They didn't appear much and they probably didn't have the budget or know-how on how to make their models. That's why it took so long for the Skarloey railway to appear and why the Small Railway never appeared in Model form
Mighty Mac has 2 faces on their rear too but they’re not a mountain engine like Culdee and the other mountain engines but they’re all narrow gauge engines except the Culdee fell railway tracks have teeth on them
@@stinkyroadhog1347 It gets even worse. This railway had eight engines, and five of them appear in these stories, but none of them are ever seen again. You also have three coaches appearing in one scene at the same time, and then there's The Truck. That makes nine props you'll never use outside of these four stories, which absolutely blows the Stepney the Bluebell Engine stories out of the water, since Caroline and the diesel were only two props and Stepney was reused in later episodes anyways (Granted that the diesel is probably large enough to fit all five of the highlighted mountain engines in his frame at once, but still...). You would also need to create several new sets, and admittedly several sets that were never seen again were created for Stepney the Bluebell Engine, but having done it once, I'm sure Britt Allcroft wasn't keen on doing it again.
Fact: Devil’s Back was intended to appear in “All Engines Go!” (The reboot that literally nobody likes), but was replaced with Cannonball Curve because the word “Devil” was considered unsubtle for children.
I think it's because they weren't main characters and either didn't speak or were only mentioned in the books. It would be cool if they made them though.
It said as the last train left the loop, but then not a minute later he said there’s been a climbing accident but the last train had just left the loop so how was there a climbing accident anyway?
@Cybusmaster92 Rev. W. Awdry never made another book or made an episode because of Godred (#1). He died in "Bad Look-Out." Mr. Awdry didn't want to upset his viewers, so he right away never mentions it again.
I'm hopefully when I make a Thomas comedy series, make a one of the spin-offs called mountain engines parody, with different guests stars and a music video called ghost Godred(like ghost nappa in teamfourstar's DBZA).
I think if the mountain railway was put into the series, only a few engines would be adapted for simplicity. Maybe Culdee, Lord Harry and another one, maybe Wilfred.
They'd probably put all five of the ones we see (Godred, Earnest, Wilfred, Culdee & Lord Harry/ Patrick) into the series, but only make three models, and change them accordingly. Lord Harry/ Patrick would probably have his own model as he's a different design than the others, but for the others, they may well just use two models and change the names & numbers accordingly, as only two of the original four are ever seen together at once (apart from the scene at the start of Danger Points, where Culdee, Earnest & Wilfred are said to be present). Anyway, that's only my thoughts on the matter.
Um...actually Season 5 was originally meant to be focused on the Arlesdale and Skarloey railways, but the producers decided to create their own episodes and stories to NOT confuse younger viewers! The franchise is meant for kids after all!
@jack1000 ...that couldn't be further from the truth. Britt Allcroft didn't have the money to make their models, so she couldn't. Then when she bought the rights she wanted to make her own episodes and characters. No offence, but you should really do your research.
They have faces on their back because they are mountain engines and they have no turntables so they are four eyes two on the front and two on the back it’s like cameras
Devil's Back is officially the most AWESOME name for a railway station.
The picture of number 6 battlling aginst the gail was always one of my most favorite pictures made by Peter and Edwards.

Back when I was a kid I got a book filled with these little series. It was a shame it only went up to 15 back in the day these were my favourites!

I'd go with the former, but as for the latter, they shouldn't have taken the name away. That's disrespectable to an engine, and shouldn't be lawful.
2:37 Every time I see that picture, I play the Edward's Exploit Storm Theme.
Antonio Huerta
Same here.
And me!
I can imagine the conversation.
"I am Lord Harry!"
"You are Number 6!"
"I am not a number, I'm a free tram!"
"A deranged locomotive more like."
Lord Harry is a lot like the cab forward and number 6 reminds me of the 4294 Locomotive at
The California State railroad Museum in Sacramento.

These stories remind me of one of the rack railways we have in Austria, the Schafberg rack railway.
