They were still chirping after game 4. It's unreal. Hopefully game 5 and MVP ends it. These guys are human. They slump, they get hurt, we should be judging them on how hard they work and if they care. Also, what else they bring when they aren't hitting. Passion, team chemistry, defense. Obviously, we got G for the bat, and just killing the Sox in the regular season is not going to define your legacy, but this is a legacy performance. All that said, he has historically killed the Dodgers, so let's hope it continues.

I mean, Babe Ruth also hit .326 with a 1.214 OPS in the post season. (Stanton comparables, .269, 1.019) It's fair to say Stanton is a better raw slugger. But people forget that Babe Ruth was one of the best hitters to play the game, #2 in career OBP behind only Ted Williams. Way ahead of his time when you realize the league undervalued walks before and into the integration era.

Its unfortunate that his last great season was his final season with the Marlins when he hit 59 hrs (same year a rookie Judge hitting 52). His 1st year with the Yankees in 2018 was his best year hitting 38/100, had a 35/97 in 2021 and a 31/78 season in 2022. These are good numbers but for someone like Staton who the Yankees paid a whole lotta money overall he did not deliver he should have had a bigger impact but the baseball gods somewhat curse Staton with injuries that took away several 40-45+ hrs seasons but if he wins a ring with the alcs mvp and maybe the world series mvp if he stays hot it maybe money well spent i think, who knows?

We can all agree Stanton has been the MVP for the Yankees this postseason even though he is a DH, but they critized Ohtani for being a DH and he did it the whole season and carried the Dodgers, who had all their starting pitchers in IL and the most injury in the league, players like Betts Freeman Muncy ect.. out from injuries. And Ohtani is an injured pitcher playing and almost won a batting title and a triple crown this season.
