Snap On is going back to the drawing board on that 100 tooth ratchet.Finding out they are locking up,going into the neutral position and the back drag is horrible.Snap On pulled it off on their online store

I did see that, unfortunately it took my rep quite a awhile to get them in stock so I was a little late to getting a good review out on it. Thanks for the info!

I bought the 100 tooth and hated it. if you press against the back of it to keep it on a bolt, it’s as if the teeth start free spinning. Traded it in for a gearwrench 1/2” 120tooth, so damn smooth.

I’ve heard people were having that issue, I just knew of the back drag issue at first. Those gear wrench 120 tooth ratchet are very smooth. One of my favorite non tool truck brands to use

My Snap On dealer said those new 100 tooth ratchets have a lot of problems and has had many 100 tooth ratchets warrantied already.

I passed on it when they first came out due to the issues. My Snap On dealer just got in the second gen and all the issues were gone with his batch.
A couple of things that were fixed were (1) they didn’t put enough grease in the head initially, and (2) the spring washer that allows you to tighten the flex joint was too weak.

Why didn't they just make the Dual 80 a hair thinner and round the corners put a steel lever on it.

@@cookies.cl9 What happens to guys with me that bought early and got the first generation and aren't happy with it? My dealer has no rebuild kits. Is the rebuild kit all that's needed to fix the freewheeling and back drag problems? The dealer isn't going to replace the wrench. Mine is a big disappointment from Snap On.

I'll keep my dual 80. I think the 100 tooth has way to much backdrag aswell

The sk/ olsa ratchets made by aj manufacturing are about the same size and are great when they are assembled and lubed correctly they aren't quite as strong as the snappy 80 but better than gearwrench keep your eyes on vim for a usa made ratchet probably sk/olsa rebrand

I hope they sell this along side the Dual 80 & not planning on discontinuing the dual 80. It would be wise to have a choice. Personally I still have a bunch of 36 tooth ratchets that I love using right next to my dual 80 stuff

The Flex yoke although thicker is weaker

Even if it was a great ratchet $220 is just too much. I think Koken are a far better value proposition in higher end ratchets and sockets.

I can't speck for the 100th ratchet as I've not got one or used one. I think it looks awful, especially the soft grip and the old style logo.
I have they matco 88 ratchet, and im not super impressed with it. As it locks up, if you use it on anything bigger than a m8 to m10 bolt or skips teeth.
And I've also got that Snap-on Dual 80 ratchet. I think it is great, no problems. I really enjoy it..

I don’t really like anything with the soft grip besides my screwdrivers, picks etc so I’m with you there but honestly I like the old logo. At least for me it’s something I don’t see often so it’s nice to take a look at a different logo. I have the matco 88 ratchets for home use and I really like those but yes the snap on duel 80 is my favorite still

The entire mechanism in the 100 tooth ratchet is junk. The whole feel of it is very notchy. The 80 tooth ratchets are much more refined, and smooth. My snap on guy confirmed that they will still continue to make the 80 tooth ratchets as well. From my point of view I would stick with the 80 tooth ratchets. Snap on needs to go back to the drawing board, and figure out how to make the ratchet internals better. If you have the 80 tooth ratchets I would stick with them.

The Mac/Proto and of course the rock solid dual 80 are much better than these POS offerings.
