I also got some friends into fountain pens with a couple of Jinhaos. :)

It's a good introductory pen brand..and they don't break the bank!

Oh my, so many yellow pens, literally mouthwatering. A copy of a Jinhao; that rendered me speechless.

I have quite a few Parker Centennial clones from Jinhao, Wing Sung and Kalgelu. All are great writers right out of the box. A true Parker is the only one I’m missing !!

I’ve been tempted by the centennial but they now cost almost as much as my beloved Pilot Prera, so… I’m a bit hesitant to spend that kind of money on a Jinhao. Those yellow jinhaos are really lovely! They have some nice pink and blue resins now. I’ve been wanting a yellow pen for a while, I have my eyes on the Sailor A Pirate’s life, but it’s a bit pricey.
    Thank you for the video!

@Valentina Garcia….Have you seen any of the solid colored Prera pens? To me they somehow look a lot nicer than the demonstrator ones. I remember seeing a solid, pretty all-yellow Prera more than once in the past.
Sailor has the inexpensively priced Profit Jr. and Lecoule pens in all yellow (cap and barrel) with a silver clip and slim silver cap ring and black section. Quite attractive.

You know I also really like yellow pens. These pens look extremely nice - not least because they are copies of the timelessly beautiful Parker Duofold.
Last week I bought the Orange Jinhao Centennial with the black flat top finials and the balled clip. I hope the orange turns out to be a genuine orange and not a yellowish orange. I couldn’t find a Parker-style Big Red. Or else I’d have bought that instead. I might even buy a yellow Jinhao Centennial later.
What do you think of the stock Jinhao M nib on the Jinhao Centennial pen? Or maybe I should see your review of the pen if you had made one. I don’t want to have to change nibs. So, I hope the original nib turns out to be very satisfactory, too.
I just broke my promise to not buy another Chinese pen again in a long time. I don’t think I’ll regret it either.

Another thing to consider is that the Parker Duofold, at least the original design is well out of copyright, so it's completely open to be duplicated. And the modern version is still different from, say, any of the Chinese "knockoffs." Minimum difference is the filling system. Modern Parker is a proprietary design, and the Parker Duofold pens that I've seen have never came with a steel nib. All it takes is a slight change, and the copyright isn't violated, or only the Sheaffer would have been a lever filler. 😁
And those who have some of the biggest issues with the politics of buying from China probably daily already have and use Chinese products... ("They're everywhere! They're EVERYWHERE!" 😁)
Personally, I've never used a Jinhao (a real one) that I didn't like. And that they are being copied? Sounds like there's a good reason. They're generally well enough built and great writers. Until Monteverde reveals exactly where the Monza was originally made, you'll not convince me that they're not at least originally a rebranded Jinhao 992. Frankly, there's others made in China and marketed as Western that the same person who cries out against "Chinese pens" is possibly currently using.
    Rant over. 😁
A lovely pen, and it looks like it's going to be a good addition to your yellow pen collection. Thanks for sharing this!

Oh, Paul, you couldn’t be more spot-on about the absolute all-pervasiveness of Chinese-made products in this country. And the fact that everybody is, whether grudgingly or enthusiastically, actually buying Chinese all the time. So, this talk of boycotting Chinese pens sounds to me like so much pitiful piffle. All of it phony outrage. I had stopped buying Chinese pens for the last year and a half, mainly because I had tired of them, been disappointed with some, and realized that I simply had zero interest in buying any more. Until I decided to buy the Orange Jinhao Centennial. I expect to receive it soon.
You’re also bang on correct about Sheaffer lever fillers being the sole pens of the kind, if copyright standards were applied as harshly as some commenters seem to want to see happen regarding Chinese copies of the Western originals.

@@sajjadhusain4146 Would also apply with Sheaffer regarding modern inks, you REALLY want to go to that extreme. They're the original for that, too. 😉
My biggest concern is "Does it work well enough for me," and Jinhao pens generally do.

@@paulherman5822 …Correct, again. I second your opinion about the Sheaffer inks. And yes, it ought to go without saying that whether the pen works for oneself or not, is ultimately all that really matters.

@@sajjadhusain4146 Unwittingly, the first bottle of ink I bought in high school (around 1983, if my memory serves) was a bottle of Sheaffer Skrip blue-black. Iconic ink for an iconic pen, my original grey Esterbrook J. 😁
Gotten because of the inkwell bottle and it was a colour that wasn't blue or black or red.

@@paulherman5822 ..Ha, sweet parallel here. I just commented yesterday on a recent video of OdE’s how I clearly remember the classic Sheaffer Skrip blue-black being my very first bottle of ink. And the No Nonsense very possibly being the first fountain pen in my life. I was 9 (in ‘83). I still love blue-blacks to this day. But I remember the Skrip line of inks with a certain unwavering fondness, still.
