What about the characteristics of the two lenses? I have little experience with cine lenses but I think the Contax Zeiss looks very good for video and photo, a bit of character and a bit of that "Zeiss pop". What about the cp3?
i really like your channel.., but I wish you would get a good microphone.. because you're English... and I'm American.., its hard to hear/understand you at times.. which is weird cause I'm usually fine with accents.. anyhow,, I've been building a nice set of Contax Zeiss recently, that are cine modded and in PL mount.. they are the HFT Zeiss.. Made in West Germany.. AEG.. 16/2.8, 35/1.4, 50/1.4, and 85/1.4 ... and I've got a couple Jenas.. 20/2.8 and 35/2.4 .... speaking of 28... that's the one I still really want.. a 28/2 or even 25/2.8 for now.. I paid alot for the 35 and 85 / 1.4... but the HFT ones have the triangular aperture/bokeh.. just like the Super Speeds in Taxi Driver and the Shining : ) i couldn't resist!! enjoying the content you're putting out.. more on vintage lenses.. and focal lengths.. if you have alot of insight into what directors used what focal lengths or preferred what focal lengths.., that would be a great topic to talk more on..
Yeah some times I can mumble a bit I.ll tweak the audio on the next one about focus breathing and add some subtitles Ha! Ziess make great lenses it is worth hiring the cine versions for jobs like I do much easier to deal with …but for photography the C/Y are stella

It’s and odd one the coatings have changed I think the cp3 is a bit more clinically but they retain the same overall feel visually
