Are you kidding? I own an outlander, and I can't work out how you can say road noise is bad, were you driving with the windows down? It is the quiet ride I have been in for an suv, and I'm not the only one who says that.
The turbo petrol Tucson needs servicing every 7,500 km! That is ridiculous for a family suv. It certainly takes it off my shopping list, and in my opinion should have been mentioned in the comparison.
Fernando Lagos My only gripe with the Outlander is the interior. A cure to insomnia. But out of these, I put the Outlander in the 'worthy for consideration', perhaps my second choice.
Owner of the 2017 outlander 4wd no complaints here, no dual clutch or sporty turbo engine but definitely have more than adequate power and traction to allow for smooth enjoyable ride, good dash display with things that you need, And space yes lots of space for the family.. Oh also missed out on how good this car is on petrol really economical
This new tucson is an excellent car, so good ,I just ordered one. Not getting it till March 16 . Dealer told me I was lucky to order early as they forsee a long waiting list.
+Paul Doherty Geez mate you got done! Car sales people will tell you anything - don't trust them. They've more than likely sold your car to some one else. If you live in Australia make sure you get the 5 star ANCAP rated model otherwise resale will tank. Dealers are keen to offload the current 4 star rated models to unsuspecting buyers.
+Paul Doherty Good on ya mate! Yes, I think the Tucson is right up there with the class leaders and is certainly on my shortlist for a new car next year. There is a really good unbiased review if you haven't seen it , just go Auto Expert TV in You Tube and look for the Tucson review (sorry I don't know how to include fancy links!). I think the Koreans have really cornered the market! I am interested in the all wheel drive 2.0 diesel model. Wish you all the best and hope you keep us posted on how the Tuscon goes as I would be really interested. Cheers!
+N Stilo Well I have car 4 days now and have to say it is a fantastic car. The 1.7 diesel is powerful and economy is coming out at 42 mpg.The finish inside is fantastic and so quiet when on the road, you would think you're in a car from class above. Will keep you posted as time goes on
Nice Car from outside but Hyundai got one big problem and that is if you choose most equiped and stronger vehicle with 184hp it cost only 5-10% less than BMW X1 with 2.0 xd 190hp and similar serial equipment !! so Hyundai Tucson with the price of similar BMW X1 it is lottery because like used one for few years it will worth signiffically less then used BMW X1 !! and of course performance of Hyundai Tucson against BMW X1 is similar like performance&speed of Turtle against cheetah !! BMW X1 2.0xd 190hp are 7,6 sec 0-100km/h and 223 km/h while Hyundai Tucson is 2 sec slower and 20+km/h less with almost identical engine power and fuel consumption is about 1+liter higher for Hyundai
Hyundai is absolutely incredible. From a company that was thought to be horrible and unreliable, makes one refresh in 2023 and completely dominates the auto market, and is predicted to best Honda and Toyota within the next 3 years. From a conpany that was never an option for consumers is now a company that is demolishing other car companies
Hyundai has achieved one thing that no one can argue with, they have give the Japanese brands something to be afraid of. Regardless of who has the best product at the moment, the consumer wins.
Mitsubishi Outlander is the best it comes with all wheel drive 7 seats its robust, you can have it with a manual 2.2 did engine which is more suitable for a vehicle this size.the rest are just cars pretending to be a suvs.

Give it a year and you will start to hear rattles in the Tuscon, while the CX5 will be like the day it was purchased. Resale will likely be more in the CX5 also. Oh and not to mention the current CX5 design is over 3 years old. The Tuscon is good, but to say the CX5 is nothing compared to it is just asinine.

Abul Quamer I like the Outlander, too. Except 'that' dash board. It look like something from a 1990s American ute. Besides that, a neat vehicle.

+RooMan Had a microphone fail :( so we had to use a lesser quality back up, that's why you hear more road noise than usual.

The US and Aussie markets get bigger engines as fuel is cheaper etc.
We get those engines in EU as well, but i think it depends on your country if Mazda thinks it's useful to sell.

What is wrong with the 2.5L skyactive engine? Its a fantastic engine! Not only that but the 2.2L Diesel is pretty much the best in class.
....for space it would be the Outlander. And for most boring dash....Outlander.
