If you haven’t, I’d say you can try to take out all the spark plugs so there’s less resistance and see how it spins over. Like you said I don’t think you can kill those engines by accident 😂
Do you still have this engine, need crankshaft sensor and crank pulley with the back plat for crank sensor,, will check back, This looks like a 1996 is why I ask, like to buy these two parts.

I don’t unfortunately, I have a box of 1996 4.9L parts somewhere though and I might have a crank pulley, I’ll check tomorrow.
