I think an interesting test would be comparing all of Zalman's WB series CPU water blocks as they demonstrate the early evolution of consumer grade custom water cooling.
It would even be relevant to modern hardware AMD has been using the same heatsink retention bracket since socket 754.
One could possibly have bought a Zalman Reserator back in 2004 and continuously used it and its original waterblock on modern hardware for nearly 20 years.
Great video! Older water cooling setups are hard to find. I had a buddy that had a Pentium III water cooling setup made with car radiator parts!
50% Salt. 50% water. Bring to a simmer (70-80C) and leave the copper in there for 10-30 minutes. Works well t0 clean up copper.
Back the early/mid 2000s I used tomato sauce and a soft bristle suede leather brush on my old danger den blocks, used to come up a treat.
Hey, first of all great content. I'm a watercooling fanatic and watercooled my first PC in 2003. All my builds were watercooled since then. Because in the last years there is so much discussion about stuff growing in watercooling loops, I would recommend to you Innovatek Protect. I have been using this since 2008 and I had not a single bit of pullution in my loops. (before that I had some horrible cooling liquids)
"Guaranty label" omg these Chinese/Taiwanese guys never cease to amaze me
6:33 Best socket 462/370 mount ever!!
Silent Stream very nice!
Nice collection I still have my swiftech system from 2009
very top what do you do i live in Brazil here you don’t see many things like that recently i follow your channel but i already love pc it involves something i love doing with pc {i don’t have a store, nor money} but I I came here to congratulate you for everything we are together
Excelentne vidko. Bomba šupa. O niektorych vecoch som nemal ani ponetie ze existuju.
this is now my second favourite video on your channel
Old is gold
This is awesome man love it that EVGA 295 WOOW!
do have to say that a lot of the old parts just in this video look really nice, and i really wonder how many are still viable today despite that many may not cool as great as what is currently available for cheap on aliexpress or even on amazon
Muito bom,belíssimos produtos.abraços desde Itapajé,Ceará - Brasil.
Dude I love what you're doing here its so Amazing
Where computer on this old school watercooler system? We are wait for this video!!! Like from me!
1:03 Aquacomputer Cuplex, I have the XT di version in my Pentium 4 retro rig.
they even sell modern adapters for them
mine sits in an am4 pc
At last found how to celan my EXOS!! Great video man.
Awesome. Waterblocks were so weird, shame they didn't have much surface contact inside
Man...i'm so jealous. Keep the sexy things in good condition👍
7:52 HEAT pipes like telephone poles :D It would be interesting to see how they from inside.
what ?? Those are not heatpipes like in laptops... those are copper pipes where water goes through .... They are empty inside LOL
@@albertwesker4266 ya yuv right.
9:30 Looks as if you were making moonshine.
To be honest, I've never touched water cooling beyond all-in-ones, but I really would love to, especially on a RETRO build! It's difficult to find a half decent cooler for those sockets cheap though, S478 and S462 and especially Socket 423 (I'm fortunate to have a compatible Intel stock cooler which gets the job done.)
That’s so awesome!
Nice
Copper cleaner is great for this, smells awful but got everything off some ancient copper teapots and platters.
Tt coper blocks for Bigwater are sealed and hard to clean.
good job!
I had a Thermaltake Aquarius II setup on my build in 2003. That case looks like it was from the same line. Similar tubing with the anti kink springs. It performed terribly with such a weak pump and tiny tubing.
very good
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
huh didnt know they made waterblocks for the dual pcb gtx 295 id imagine that fits the 9800 gx2 as well with minimal effort as its dual pcb in probably the exact same layout.
Is that ww2 water cooling ? Cause i'm liking this so far.
Great video on a great treasure mate.
My dude I love your channel and overall your content being a retro/collector myself but how the fuck do you find all of these old parts new and in such pristine condition?, it really blow my mind.
@RETRO Hardware Udělej video stavbu PC z Vodním Okruhem
I would be worried about those o-rings.
do you mind if i make subtitles for the video?
subs are open to make
I have the bfg hydro 260/280 block as well as the gtx 295 single PCB water block from ek nickel plated. If you are interested let me know
How much are you paying for these retro water-cooling kits. From what I've seen on Ebay and other places, people are asking stupidly high amounts of money for them. Great video as always.
If money is the problem then i would say try looking at national/local second hand sites and internet auctions. Also second hand stores, and if possible, ask to buy something off of local ewaste recyclers. You might not always find what you want but you may be lucky. Also you could try publishing an ad in the newspapers or ask in Facebook groups.
Perfektne čistiace vidko :)
I'm too big a chicken to use a open/custom loop.
Hey how you can find that stuff, im trying to buy an liquid cooling block for 478

kamarat davaj na seba pozor lebo ide mozno byt silna epidemia !
Bạn có bán những linh kiện đó không?
you should start a museum.damn i like your stuff.(❁´◡`❁)
Hi, where are you from?
Copper is better cleaned with phosphoric acid, or sulfuric.
join the cyberpunk case mods and use this parts :)
i think it's more like steampunk. cyberpunk is the genre we have already i could say - led strips, lcd screens on cpu block, more led strips
what type of pump with res is that @ 10:11
this is classic EHEIM with expansion tank

These stussfrom 80s🤣
i have donated all my WC stuff at the time....wish i didn't...
You and linus should talk, just saying. Or gamers nexus.
Two different persons bro, very far away
I'd say he's got better chance working with jayztwocents, both are watercooling masters
@@bigotdestroyer3476 Well I mean the list could go on. But yes they both certainly are.
@@nux3960 and? I fail to see your point. I'm saying getting on there would bring a lot of people here. And he could teach them a thing or two I'm sure. Gamers nexus also hangs with alot of people that make the stuff so yea.
Вот и нет
Падла!

I steer clear of water cooling as I don't trust it.
