From the first time I ever heard this song, it always sounded like a variation on "Hey Jude" to me. You can even sing Hey Jude's "Na, na, na, na," part over the chorus of this song pretty well.
I just finished reading his book of the same name.....only minutes ago, and I had to check out the (super 8) film clip shot by Lenny's then wife Lisa (Bonet). In a meeting to listen to the demo tape of the song, a Virgin records boss passed a note to the other which read "Prince meets John Lennon"
Romeo Blue and John Cougar were both names that I held in the same realm of respect as the Hudson Brothers and Bay City Rollers. I'm glad they finally got comfortable in their own skin or I would have missed some great music.
The ending jam is the best!!
Bass is the magic in this tune.
True of most Lenny tunes!

I've always thought the same, although the chord progression in the verse is a lot more like something George would write rather than Paul.

Nice JJ! Good guitar choice for this song! Any guitars you're still gunning for or pretty satisfied with the collection?
There are always a few I'm gunning for. :)
When someone takes a gander at my collection and says" Jees...how many guitars do you really need?"
"Just one more"
Which guitar is that? A Gib? Many thanks for your teching, from Italy.
I just saw a little white dog flash by the Orange amp....even he digs your playing
What is this guitar and what pickups are in it? Sounds amazing.
It's a Conrad from the mid-60s, but I don't know what pickups are in it. They're not stock. I think the originals were minis.
You are correct, sir!
amp setings?
