@@tsuyoi-hikari Alright ill try my best to give you some really good answers that arent half assed haha. 1 .Maquia most likely came to realize that it was time to leave his side as he had his own family now and that he'd be protecting them. Not to mention that neither her or leilia knew if their people survived or not so she probably had to go check. Also Leilia was pretty fucked up from being help captive for so long by herself, she wasnt even allowed to see her daughter so im guessing Maquia didnt wanna leave her alone again. I personally dont think being a young mother was the reasoning behind her leaving him. 2. Again im guessing due to the fact that he already had his own family to take care of and that it might have been risky to stay but im not 100% sure since the kingdom that first attacked their people fell. 3. This one was pretty obvious and idk if you missed that part but she was pregnant with her child. She could've easily have left and still raised the child on her own but im guessing that the prince wouldve sent out an army to either find her and possibly kill her and her child if she attempts escape or to go back and finish her people off. Im guessing its the latter. So staying with the prince might have been her only choice otherwise she wouldve just left. 4. This question is a bit harder to answer imo because it made no sense for her to not just bail. Im gonna guess and say that she couldve been threatened like i stated earlier. Either they'd go back and kill the rest of her people or wouldve killed her daughter. At this point the only thing getting Leilia through this hell is the thought of her daughter so she must've had love for her and wanted to protect her or didnt wanna leave her in that kingdom by herself. Also maybe Leilia noticed that Krim was slowly losing himself and becoming more evil but idk if he was over the edge at this point or not. So the reason why she left with Maquia at the end is that she realized her daughter really didnt know who she was and it was the same for Leilia. They didnt know eachother besides that theyre mother and daughter. She had a better relationship with Maquia and wanted to be with her to go look for her people. Even though her daughter had 50% her dna she still never had a real connection. Of course as theyre flying away she says to forget eachother because itd be for the best. 5. I'll be honest idk how to answer this one but if you look at other movies similar style of movies (not even talking about only anime) sometimes in royalty they dont allow much contact between the princess/queen and her children. The reasoning? I have no clue man haha i just know its a theme in royalty and ive seen it in other movies or shows. Im going to guess the reason why she cant have another child is due to the reason she's immortal. Probably only allows 1 child birth or something. We really dont get a detailed explanation but thats my guess on it. hope i did a way better job answering your questions than the others but if i didnt i apologize.

I was lucky enough to see Maquia at the weekend (29.09.18) - My film of the year, beautiful, entrancing and not a dry eye in the house at the end. Rarely does an audience sit totally rapt in the end credits and then applaud at the final shot....try all you might this film will touch your heart.
This anime movie taught us even we are from different world, still love remain in our heart, our hope and our bonds to each other even death can't separated it....
The directorial debut of the woman who was lead writer for Iron Blooded Orphans? Something tells me it's going to be really good and is also going to make me cry like a baby
Wow this is one of the best films I have seen, I highly recommend it. If you are not completly broken bring the tissues, tears will ensure. I am fairly broken myself and had feels flowing down my face towards the end; it will happen lol.
poor maquia.. until ending, she never find a true love.. but i don't know i think she love ariel like ariel like her but because their status.. until ending, they never together.. and what really sad is the ending when maquia cried a lot after ariel die
Yes, finally it's gotten a US release! I'm looking forward to seeing Mari Okoda's debut as a director, can't wait! EDIT: Ok after seeing the showings available in California I'm kind of disappointed. Most of it is in the Inland Empire and some up north, not even one in LA, San Diego, or Orange County??? What makes it worse is that we're probably going to have to wait a year till we get any announcement on the bluray, I mean we still haven't had announcement of a bluray for A Silent Voice for pete's sake!

We have since added more CA theaters, namely in San Diego, and we are also finalizing the details with even more. So don't fret!

That's usually how it is for any anime theater release sadly. Not even one in Nashville, which is a couple hours away from me, but the closest big city.

your name played in Fresno,CA so i was able to watch that, already seen no game no life zero, sao, unlimited blade works, and silent voice at theaters, already bought my ticket to watch fireworks cause its in my local theater, ofc i want to watch this one on theater just as bad. 50 min drive from where im at, the 2 hour drive isnt a problem for me, the problem for me is that I dont have a reliable car :/. ofc I will try to get alternative ways to go watch it, see if any of my friends are down to go.

My evaluation of the movie: the same grade as I would give to food that is edible. not being harsh but that is how I feel. While it showed good motherly love, I still felt it seemed lacking. IF anything the anime showed me, it is the typical element that humans will always be power-hungry barbarians that don’t mind if they will cause another race’s extinction for their own profit. I had forgotten how many anime and manga keeps showing that. But that does reflect real world history. My overall viewpoint is that the movie could have been better. I hated how Ariel chose to fight alongside a kingdom that happened to have destroyed the home of his mom, Maquia. It would be more sensible for Ariel to grab his wife and runaway while also letting that idiot kingdom get their divine punishment. I mean, yes he has comrades, but I think those comrades would make the smart choice of deserting a kingdom of corrupt idiots that deserve to be killed. While I had expected that Ariel could have protected Maquia, that didn’t seem to happen in my view. He pretty much failed in that part. And, as he become a soldier, he obviously made no attempts to see Maquia again.
Answer to immortals living among mortals: harem ending. Stoopid immortals want to love and be loved by only one. And wanting their loved one to only love you? Love is free, learn that lesson, and you can love many.
The official trailer is terrible. It doesn't sell the story at all. It starts to tell you the premise, then just drops it. And you get a bunch of disjointed scenes that say nothing while at the same time spoiling the film. This is awful.
