Goad is one of the best ways to deal with problematic creatures. "This is my combopiece!" "I don't give a damn, it's goaded and we all can blockkill it." "Nnoo!"
I run a version of this deck that goes the group-hug route: let people draw more cards, give other players at the table lots of creatures and such, and then Kardur comes in and makes them all murder eachother! Feels like Kardur is playing with toy soldiers sometimes!
@@Luger714 I tens to find that insurrection/mob rule works most of the time, but blade of selves (especially when delina wild mage is in play) had been a standout in the deck as well since all of the copies of kardur which you have to sacrifice are tapped and attacking, so they drain the table as all of the copies see eachother die. That paired with monarchy pieces (nobody can steal it from you if they are always goaded) generally means I'm always in a position to win the 1v1 :) of course sometimes not everything goes your way but that's just the game!
Fun fan theory about you. I think you understand deck building so well that I would bet WOTC designers go off your builds when making new decks. I say this because there is a correlation between your decks, reprints and the value of some cards going up. This video is one of those, 2 years ago these cards were on budget, now some are 9 bucks. I say all this because its fun to contemplate but also, this is a long winded compliment to your builds. Thanks, as always.
I like that within the 1st hour of this video being uploaded the price tripled 😂 Love the deck - probably will still buy it to suffocate my friends with non-stoppable goating
Seems like a lot of the deck techs lately have revolved around blinking or death blinking the commander over and over again. Not saying these are bad decks but it would be nice to see some decks that didn't rely on these mechanics so heavily.
Well that Archetype just got a ton of support, so a lot of otherwise lacking decks now have very budget options thanks to baldur's gate being dirt cheap ATM.
Any of the instant speed sacrifice outlets could also be used during combat to sacrifice an attacking creature to trigger the commander's effect, even after the creature has dealt damage
If you're going to put a Squirrels picture up as your thumbnail and then not include any squirrels in the deck list, I'm just gonna unsub. I don't need that kind of disappointment in my life, not from my RUclipsrs. This has to stop.
Glad becoming more feasible in commander is awesome, love this. I just built the new commander background duo with Red/Blue. So fun! Just a bunch of protection/vultron and let me opponents kill each other with creatures. :)
I've been running an altered version of your Jegantha / Keruga Populate deck, and part of my alterations involves multiple copy cards that Remove the Legend Rule, such as Double Major. And let me tell you, multiple copies of Kardur is a NIGHTMARE. Not only do you get the same effect as here, but the Health Loss / Gain ALSO stacks 😲 This? This creation you've put in front of me? It's evil. I haven't even played it and I KNOW it's evil LOL
Yay! A meme deck that could actually be playable! And it's so cheap it's worth my time to just buy the deck and not dig thru my collection to find everything I already have! Great work CQ team!
I love silly fun stuff like this. I'd be laughing my a$$ off even if you were my opponent/ not me playing it. Decks like this are why I play the game. Silly, inventive, fun ways to win. One of my favorite decks of all time(I still have it) is dagger burn from standard some years ago. It wins by drain/ gaining opponents to death.... by giving them creatures +panharmonicon doubling effects. I have won so many games outta nowhere with my life😮total in the low single digits. It gets silly very quickly once set up.
I'm curious about a rules interaction with this deck. We learned back in Kamigawa that there's a phase of the combat step after combat damage is dealt, where a creature is still considered to be an unblocked attacking creature for the purposes of Ninjutsu. Would this then mean that with Kardur on the board, can I attack someone with a cloned creature, hit their face, and then sacrifice it to trigger Kardur's second ability?
Loved the deck! as usual! already buying the deck! Will try to slowly making it optimized, I just returned from MTG, so this deck will be my returnee deck, which suits since I will be returning my Commander all the time lol
I just purchased this deck and I was curious about possible upgrades. I'm definitely getting conjurer's closet and rionya fire dancer. I also have demonic, vampiric, grim, profane, diabolic tutors and mastermind's acquisition available to add into it. which of those should I add and what to take out?
Nice decklist. Quick question. After checking TCG Player and Card Kingdom, I couldn't find the cards for $10. Are your videos released to patron first, and is that why card prices go up?
If you cut the basic lands (everyone has basics, if youre a new player w/out basics go to an LGS and there will most likely be a stack of basics for you to choose from for free), you can get the deck for $12 w/ optimizing you can get the deck for 8.50 (Excluding shipping)
I added it, price originally was 800 or something when it optimized couldn't figure out why. The lands it optimized for me were like the most expensive versions coming 1 or 2 per seller. 30 to 40 each. Removed lands ended at 18 or so
definitely building this deck for my playgroup.... we do the King, Knight, Bandit, Assassin thing..... this will come out if I am the King! Mwahahahahaha >:- )
Update!! Two years later this deck is no longer $10… It’s $111 on TCG player… it’s $57 worth of cards and the rest is shipping… smh I built the same deck with all the same cards for $80 ordering most of the cards on Amazon and some on eBay. I even got some alternate art and some secret lair cards. I guess with tcg there is the reassurance that are ordering everything from one website with one transaction and you get to pick the quality of the cards. Badass deck but two years later the value has skyrocketed.
i wouldnt call unstable obelisk "a great way" to get rid of something, 7 mana for a removal spell is brutally expensive and you have to sac the obelisk and because it requires a tap as well you cant use the obelisk mana to help with the cost
kardur say "..if able". must attack if able, and a not you if able. if youre the only opp, they still have to attack (first part) but cannot choose someone other than you (using the "if able" on the second clause) so you have his etb trigger when its you vs them, all their creatures must attack you.
I built this deck, basically. Not budget though. My playgroup absolutely hated it, and I eventually disassembled the deck in favor of friendships, lmao.
I wouldn't even play against this deck lol. Goad and discard decks I just immediately walk away from. That's the good thing about playing at an LGS, you have multiple groups to choose to play with, so you can easily avoid annoying decks/people
I found this video’s Thumbnail misleading. I was hoping for some kind of squirrel deck. It’s just a demon goad deck, like come on where are the squirrels?!
You posted this video an hour ago and the min price for the deck with heavily played cards is 18 dollars with the market price being 28 and the median being 44 dollars. Why do you post it saying it’s $10??
I like that within the 1st hour of this video being uploaded the price tripled 😂 Love the deck - probably will still buy it to suffocate my friends with non-stoppable goating
What's annoying is the use of squirrels as thumbnails but not including any squirrels in the deck.
Like my friend and his squirrel deck with barely any in it
I love the fact goad is becoming a semi-evergreen mechanic. It's been one of my favorites. Another great one Mitch!

@@Octobouch until you get all the stuff you gave away back with insurrection... :D

I love annoying my friends.
Dont forget about Conjurer's Closet, alittle more over a dollar but it can blink Kardur on your endsteps

To be honest, with all the "when this card enters" effects, it's going to have to be abused, not used whenever.
happy to see more deck techs for this guy; he leads one of my favorite decks to play

I clicked this specifically looking for squirrels
Got a Kardur deck. So funny when it really ties everyone up. I rarely win with it tho tbh. That’s just part of the fun tho

Mirrorbox is incredibly powerfull in this deck

Love it, butting this deck very soon. Also, what if I am only playing 1 opponent? Who do they attack then, no one?
i want to see these played in commander games. every week, there is like 1 game and 4 decks. 5 videos a week!
