Sorry I totally missed this comment... You're going to need probably an associate's level education to get a good job. It can be a little bit challenging to get the first job even with the degree sometimes what you have to do is find something somewhat related to that for a year then it's usually really easy after that. If instrumentation level one is a certificate that's not going to be enough but if you can pair that with a maintenance technician job or something like that that should be plenty to get a good I/e job. Find me a LinkedIn if you have other questions

@@gregroche7323 No worries, I appreciate the reply, Greg. Yeah I figured you needed a degree, I was just wondering why community colleges even offer level 1 instrumentation.

Large portion of community colleges will have this sort of program. They’re usually not called instrumentation they might be called automation or electrical engineering technology.. they’re also other names you just gotta read the description of the degree.
Someplace over nine month certificate you can get my opinion that’s not super helpful for getting your first job. It can work but a lot of times it won’t something else that I’ve noticed has dozens of open positions in my area is Maintenance Technician roles and you can possibly get into that with a nine month certificate.

Hello Greg, I'm currently an electrical apprentice I usually travel out of state but I'm based out of Swfl. Instrumentation has been in my mind for the last 6 months, and I've noticed I can get NCCER certified or get a degree. But I have also have noticed you attended PBSC. I've seen other programs around the area and are partner-shipped with FPL and their power plants in FL. Have you ever or had the opportunity to get an internship with them? Or if you have any feedback on with FPL because I know they do hire but with a degree. Thank you for your videos, they give a lot of knowledge on to give the step into this field.

I have a friend who attended the Electrical Power technology program at PBSC (I cannot speak highly enough of this program). One of my buddies in School had some power plant operator experience. After graduation he got on with FPL doing I&E about 4 years ago. I spoke with him about a year ago & he told me he was making 53$ an hour and really liked his job

Also my internship while I was in school was at Palm Beach County water utilities, it was part time at 19/hr. They hooked my up with that in my second semester there

Hello Greg, I was wondering if you think that getting a Electronic technician certificate okay for getting an entry level job.

Hey how are you doing? What kind of certificate are we talking about at a college?

That is a hard question I would not be super comfortable saying it will work but at the same time I would not be surprised if it did work

@@gregroche7323 there is a college called Valencia college in the Orlando, fl. They have an electronic Engineering technology program. They offer certificates, associates and bachelors degrees. I was thinking I would get the certificate, see if I could find a entry level job. Then work on my associates degree. The school also said they do transfer the credits from the certificate to the associate's.

Thank you for these videos brother. I really do appreciate it👍🏾. I've been researching for a couple of months. I seems like you're the only one on RUclips talking about it.
